My brewer broke on Sunday and I called customer service, yes on Sunday! and after doing all the trouble shooting and nothing worked, they not only extended my warranty, but sent me a new upgraded brewer. I got it today! Awesome customer service and I would buy this product again and again! Love it! Dawn Lakewood, CA

"Not all it's cracked up to be"

I purchased my platinum brewer in Dec 2011. I started having problems with it brewing by Feb 2011. After descaling it several times, it started to brew again. It was doing okay, until now Jul 2011. Now it won't brew at all. I've called Keurig and another one is being shipped to me. Although I'm happy with the customer service, I'm not happy with already needing a replacement. I bought my brewer online when it was a special, and can no longer get the blue brewer. I'm having to settle with a different color brewer. I was told the coffee that I was using is too fine for my brewer and shouldn't be used. I hope the next brewer does as promised, and has a longer life span.
Pros: Easy to use, Stylish, Multiple Settings
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, HARD TO CLEAN

Broken, yet again....

I'm on my third purchase of this pot. The first broke about a year after I got it. Called the company and they replaced it for "free" after I had to pay to return a part from the brewer as proof of ownership. The second pot lasted less than 5 months. Again, it was replaced for "free" but I'm left wondering how long this third pot will last before it too starts in with short brews or no brews at all. Using bottled water, descaling, cleaning, etc. everything you're supposed to do. It shouldn't be this difficult to get a cup of coffee in the morning!
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Breaks easily

Had the same problems with short cupping then shutting down. I cleaned it every three months as per instructions. The first was a gift ,lasted a yr. The second was sent by Keurig as a replacement. That lasted lasted 18 months. I just recieved my third replacement last week from Keurig. I also have to send back the cup container within 30 days or be charged for the brewer. I hope I have better luck with this one. I asked if there was a problem with this make , was told no. I should have looked at the reviews!! This needs to be taken off the market or replaced with a make that is not having these issues.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN

Customer Service resisting replacement

Have had to exchange numerous times. Until this latest time when I got "Robert" on the phone, customer service had been friendly and always replaced the machine quickly and tossed in extra kcup boxes for the bother. I've purchased four, two for the home and two as gifts. This latest round of issues resulted in the usual attempt to try to fix the problem. After a month of constant issues, I finally called and asked for a replacement expecting the usual relaxed, pleasant experience. Robert, however, was resistant. He went through the usual list, and I told him that we had done all those things, and I wanted a replacement. He then told me in a stern tone how he had to "admonish" his customers on a daily basis as they did not understand how to take care of the machine. Huh? It's treated like gold in this house...it has to be! We accept it's fragile and are very protective of it. He continued to insist that I try to fix it, and I finally had to request that if he wouldn't replace it, could he transfer the call to someone who would? He said petulantly that he could do it. Well, I received an email confirmation that it was sent, with "NO K CUPS" indicated in all caps and bold. We just received it, but a lot of the joy has gone out of it. The quality issues are Keurig's and maybe now they are realizing that the cost of replacing faulty machines is not being covered by the high cost of the k-cups. We are looking for places to cut back on spending, and this, sadly, may be one luxury that now has to go.
Pros: "Perfect" cup every day, Fast, Easy to use
Cons: Fragile, HARD TO CLEAN, Not durable, Needs replacement often

How many times?....FOUR!

As of today, August 8th, 2011, we are being sent our fourth brewer (same model) in less than 2 years. We use filtered water...always have, descale regularly, clean the ports, etc. and we still cannot get a brewer to last longer than 6-8 months. Fortunately, Keurig has a great warranty service and they continue to send us replacements. However, we have to go through their troubleshooting proceedure everytime! I actually did everything they usually tell you to do on the phone before I called them and they still made me go through the process again on the phone. We continue to try because we love this coffee pot! It fits our lifestyle perfectly. This time, however, we had had enough and asked for our money back in order to purchase something else. Keurig refused because we had not purchased it or had it replaced within 30 days of the problem. Really??!! Well, if you don't mind having it failing on you during the year warranty and you don't mind the trouble of their "troubleshooting" proceedure, then purchase this pot and Good Luck! Maybe you will be one of the few that it works for....just over the year mark anyway, which by then is out of warranty and their good customer service will mean nothing to you.

Cons: Not reliable or durable

Wonderful Coffee With 'My K-Cup'

I see some reviews talking about the unit not lasting - fingers crossed! The unit is a beauty, and functions very well... so far. Rich, very strong coffee IS possible with this machine!! I use Kirkland Columbia Supremo coffee, a 'My K-Cup', & a Krups GVX1 Burr Grinder set to the next to finest setting - an espresso/powder grind. I fill the 'My K-Cup' to the top of the mesh, and use the 'cup' or 'small mug' setting on my Keurig - that gives me a very rich & strong cup of coffee. I brew 2 of these 'cycles' for a full cup, but clean-up is so easy, the entire process takes only 3 or 4 minutes... SO much easier and quicker than a french press or a pump espresso machine, both of which I've used for years. GRIND & CLEANING NOTE: Using an espresso/powder grind makes clean-up of the grounds very easy - not messy at all. I simply lay a paper towel on the counter and gently tap the inverted 'My K-Cup' & the entire grounds come out cleanly. I've noticed that coarser grinds are quite messy to clean & require washing the grounds out with water - a real mess. Want rich flavor & an easy clean-up? Try an espresso/powder grind and a great coffee.

problem with brewer

Works great for about 8 months and then having trouble getting the first cup brewed in the morning. Have to shut it down and restart it to get it to brew and after that works fine all day. Found that if I turn it off at night it will work properly in the morning. Brewer was replaced and I am now on my 3rd replacement. Seems like that problem should be able to be solved without sending a new one every time.l
