Good until it dies on you

The Keurig Platinum is a very sleek looking unit. It allows you to change water temps., choose different cups sizes, and brews fast. I've had mine for only 4 and half months before the pump went out. It just stopped pumping water and I only used purchased filtered water from watermill express so I had 100% clean water. Never had an issue with calcium build up, etc.. After reading so many reviews recently, this is a well known and very common problem that is an obvious design flaw. Yes Keurig will replace the defective unit in you are under warranty, however they have yet to actually fix the pump issues with these units to prevent them from breaking. Many people have gone through several units already and I'm not going to be surprised if the new unit that is sent to me breaks as well. Keurig really needs to step up and fix this issue instead of constantly sending out new units to people. It must cost them less to do that then fix the issue. If you dont plan to make coffee/tea, etc. often then it may last longer for you, but dont be surprised if you buy one the pump eventually stops working. I wouldnt buy one today if I knew about these issue before. I love the concept, but am disappointed with Keurig and the fact that they haven't fixed or came up with a new pump design that lasts.

I recieved my first one as a gift two years ago. I enjoyed it so much I purchased a 2nd from [...] for use at my desk. This is a great coffee system when it works. The problem is weither you clean it regularly or not it quits working properly after a few short months. This is the 4th time to return this machine to [...] for another. If it wasn't for [...] return policy I would have given up on this thing long ago.
Pros: Stylish, Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Fast
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value

Why havent they fixed problem?

I use this everyday and was very disappointed when after 4 months the machine started giving half cups....the problem only got worse and the machine died at the 8 month.Seems that is a common problem.I will say however that Keurig was very good about it and is sending a replacement.I also have the one cup maker for 3 years now with no problems at all.I will say that when they work its a great way for a good cup of coffe.Plus the choices are endless..

Cons: Fragile

Does not last very long

We are everyday users - brews 2 cups in the morning every day and sometimes 2 cups in the evening. We had this product 14 months before it started brewing half cups. We tried cleaning it, worked for a month or so. Then stopped brewing all together. The warrenty isn't long enough. Pricy coffee machine for not lasting too long.

Works well, but noisy.

My machine has worked well for the past two years, but is noisy and can awake others in the household in the morning when used (makes loud vibration noise). I recommended one to my sister and hers is extremely quite. Not sure why the difference in sound. Coffee quality is good and hot.

Get the Basic Variety

Instead of this version, get the simple one that is easy to use. This complicated variety was impossible, we were constantly on the phone for directions and still couldn't get it to work, it would always stop, and offered no advantage over the simple one doesn't offer.

Consistantly the same problem

First off, we only use filtered water in our unit. We had our first one only three weeks before the unit would stop and the "Prime" message would blink. We would have to pull of the water reservoir and replace it. We were sent a replacement unit from Kuerig. This unit began doing the same thing at three weeks also. We would love this model.....if it worked beyond three weeks. You can't tell me that Keurig isn't aware of this problem.

Cons: Pump system

Undependable

I have purchased three machines. None of them last over 6 months. I followed all directions in terms of cleaning, but found they are undependable. I have just ordered a Cuisinart. I hope to have better luck.
