Excellent product

I watch over 5 keurig machines in an office environment (there are about 12 machines in current use here). All but one of the machines is the platinum model and all have very heavy use. The trick to using these is first, clean the machine every other month with vinegar according to the instructions. This fixes most problems. Filtered and spring water still have mineral deposits in them, so cleaning is essential. Also, if there is a problem with the machine not dispensing enough water, unplug the machine for at least 5 minutes. This also seems to help. Every problem here has been corrected with cleaning and unplugging. The machines here are used around 200 times a day, they are 1 1/2 years old and still in perfect working condition.
Pros: Fast, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use, Durable, Stylish, Multiple Settings
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Prefer the Breville brewing system

I purchased the Breville for our home in Utah and the Keurig for our summer cabin in Montana. The Keurig jammed after making 3 cups of regular coffee and required the paper clip cleaning job to make it function again. I really dislike the blue lights that illuminate the water tank when the machine in one and the flashing lights when it needs to be refilled. The tank is difficult to to remove when refilling and awkward when putting a full tank back in place. It does make a decent cup of coffee but that would be the coffee selection rather than the maker. The Breville is a better coffee maker but a little bulky.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: Difficult settings, Refilling tank, Clogs easily

Love/hate relationship with my brewer

I absolutely love my Keurig, which I bought 9 months ago. BUT the last couple of weeks I've started having brewing problems. First it wouldn't brew when I pushed the brew button the first time. I had to lift the handle and push brew again. Now the last couple of days I have to shut the system down completely and then cross my fingers that it will brew when I turn it on. It won't always brew the right size now either. I know other's with this system that have had the same issues.On the other hand, the customer service rep that I talked to was very considerate and is sending me a new system. He also suggested de-scaling at least every 3 months, even with distilled water. I know that I didn't clean it as often as I should. I will make sure to be on top of de-scaling this time around. Hopefully the new system will work better than the last one.I couldn't imagine life without my Keurig!!!!

Platinum brewing System

Cons: This is my secong keurig. They keep breaking. First it stops brewing the right amount of coffee, then it stop brewing period. I have declogged the needles and descaled, all for it to stop working by the 6 month mark twice. These units are too expensive for this problem. Pro:When I first get them I love them! Makes great coffe, quick and I only need to make one cup so no extra waste.
Pros: Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Fast
Cons: Not durable, HARD TO CLEAN

We are on our third machine of this model. They are not lasting more than 6-9 months. The stores where we purchased had replaced the first one (lasted 6 months), Keurig has replaced this last one (lasted 7 months). Customer support makes you jump through hoops of fire before finally believing you that the machine will not work. That was unnecessarily annoying. But they did replace this last one requiring us to mail the k-cup holder back as proof of ownership with the broken one. We will not be purchasing this machine again. I don't even want a replacement! It's a pain in the neck. Worse one yet. Our old, noisy, original Keurig, we gave that to our daughter, it still works after over 2 years.

Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, Not durable, Does Not Last

Six weeks in... and we love it.

Six weeks in and we have nothing negative to say about the brewer. We make about 4 cups of coffee a day. A number of our co-workers have this brewer (some for a long time) and all recommended that we use distilled water over tap water/or home filtered water. Was also a little concerned about how loud it was going to be based on some of the reviews we had read, but this brewer is very quiet.

I have had my Keurig Platinum for almost a year and I use it every day at least 2-6 times a day. Not only is it fast and quiet, it brews great coffee! I love that I can adjust the brew temp, cup size and even when it turns on and off! It is so easy to clean and maintain, I tell everyone I know about it and how great it is. I previously had a competitor of Keurig's single serve brewer and the Keurig is much, much more user friendly, easier to clean and has a much wider variety of coffees and teas available!
