Never purchase another!

Would never purchase another!! [$] and after 7 months it only makes 1/4 cup of coffee. I might as well use a $20.00 coffee maker & make a full pot of coffee. Faster and cheaper!

Planned shelf life?

I have one for each of my homes, plus I bought my mom one, and recommended it to my sister and sons. If I had known how limited the shelf life would be I would have stuck with my Cuisinart grind and brew. I have descaled faithfully but have experienced almost all of the problems mentioned by other users....less and less coffee production which causes wasted K-cups and higher cost per K-cup, descaled but machine refuses to erase "descale" from screen and does not generate full cup even after descaling repeatedly, machine is refilling external water container with hot water and the list goes on. I do not recommend this product anymore....until Keurig remasters the single cup coffee market I'll grind and brew. Wake up Keurig you aren't the only producers of a single cup product any longer.
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value

Mixed emotions....

I kept this coffee system immaculate. Periodic maintenance as recommended. Programed it to turn on at 7AM and off at 9AM. Purchased it in April 2010 - it stopped working July 2011 - 15+ months. I am very disappointed. As a matter of reference - in the last few months it began to brew much less than a cup regardless of the size chosen, also water would flow back into the reservoir; something I didn't notice before. May not purchase a replacement - units are too expensive for a system that dies 3 months after warranty expires.
Pros: Easy to use, Convienent
Cons: Short life - 15 months, Not durable, Pricey / Poor Value
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Brewer - When it Works
on July 13, 2011

We're on our 3rd or 4th brewer. All of them have failed by short-cupping, no-cupping, or just plain refusing to brew. We've descaled and cleaned the needle with no effect. [...] Keurig – you've got a great idea here, but it's extremely poorly executed. It's time you acknowledged the issue and fixed it, and stopped treating the customers like idiots.
Pros: Fast, Easy to use
Cons: Doesn't last, On our 3rd brewer, Repeated Failures

Brewer needs improvement

I love the quality of the coffee and the ease of making good coffee with the brewer. However, the machines do not last longer than a year (if you are lucky and descale and use filtered, bottled water regularly). This is a problem and they need to improve. Our entire family uses these brewers and we have all had to replace our within a year or less. When this one goes I will look for a better machine.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Fragile

LOVE IT, but had it less then a year and it stopped working. Called Keurig and was given specific directions on how to clean the needle and de-scale it. Worked for a couple of days and then nothing again. Called again and to my amazement they are sending a new one. Just disappointed that you can't buy something these days and have it NOT work for a LONG time!!
Pros: Stylish, Easy to use, Fast, Multiple Settings

I love this coffee maker. It makes a quick cup that tastes great and its the perfect temp. However, I am on my third one in two years and that is very irritating. The first time it was clogged because I didn't descale it often enough. But it never notified me that it needed it so I just went on my marry usage. Then the second time it just wouldn't turn on. It completely died on me with no warning. Thank God I keep a perculator as a back up. So now I'm on my third and we're a couple weeks into it. All seems to be good so far. I will say this, the customer service I've received has always been over the top and that keeps me coming back. I really want the company to address these issues and fix the problems these machines are having. But I'm a fan!!
Pros: Fast, Coffee is the right temp, Great tasting coffee, Easy to use and clean
Cons: Have to clean it often, Pods are too costly, Break down too often

If not for warranty...

We're on our 3rd REPLACEMENT Keurig Platinum in less than 24 months! Our first Keurig worked great, so we "upgraded" to the Platinum and gave our original to our daughter. The original is still working for her 3 years after we originally bought it, but Keurig has replaced our Platinum model three times (all under warranty). All the problems are the same: 1) Quits reliably pumping water after 3-4 months, 2) we "descale" and clean nozzles even though descale isn't showing, and it works a month, 3) quits pumping again (see #2), 4) finally, it works randomly for 3 days, then quits and says "descale" even though we descaled it 3 days earlier. We use city water that we refilter through our refrigerator filter--doesn't make any difference. After Tech Support gets past their "checklist for why it doesn't work," they are good about recognizing the problem and sending us a new one, but this is getting old. To me, this appears to be a computer chip issue in the design. After the 2nd replacement, Keurig Tech Support said, "We've fixed the issue." I don't think so... As long as I keep registering my replacements, I guess Keurig will keep replacing them for free, at no cost to me except for postage to mail the "proof of disposal" back, my level of frustration, and my time spent trying to make it work! Why does the original Keurig still work reliably (although noisy!) while the "Platinum" has to be replaced every six months?!?!
Pros: Fast When it works, Convenient when it works
Cons: Very poor reliability
