Great idea and great coffee, if it works

I won my Platinum brew in a silent auction in December of 2009. I love the concept. It's great for someone like me who is the only coffee drinker in the house. I don't have to brew a whole pot in order to get good coffee. That being said, I have had many of the problems listed in other reviews. My main problem is that I will go to brew a cup and I get no output upon initiating the brew cycle. It is a really frustrating thing to deal with in the morning when you wake up. I also have 2 comments, 1) as far as using only filtered or purified water, that SHOULD NOT matter. No other coffee maker out there requires you to use filtered water to make the coffee. And by the way, just because you use filtered water, doesn't mean it's not hard water. 2) I have tried both filling the resevoir by keeping it on the machine and by removing it. I have not seen any difference no matter which way you do it. Because of the issues I've had, I am being sent a replacement unit as well. This will be my second one since Dec 09 so we'll see how it goes. I've heard they worked out the problems. If they haven't, I will not be getting another unit from them. It's not an issue of how good the customer service is to me, but an issue of how well their product is made. It doesn't matter if they stand behind it if they don't make a good product. If this second doesn't work, I'll be moving on.

We keep ours in the bathroom so it will brew while we get ready in the morning. I can't imagine my day without it.
Pros: Stylish, Easy to use, Convenient, Durable
Cons: Limited Cup Sizes

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

We had our B70 Keurig maker a little over 1 year and it stopped doing anything! I mean it would not put forth a drop of water. Upon calling customer service they told me that it needed to be descaled! Well it has anALERT that tells you when to DESCALE. But it never came on till it was too late!!!Customer service told me I COULD NOT descale because it would not run any water thru it. All they could do was offer a discount on a new brewer. They have you at their mercy. With the brewer costing over $200 dollars you have to purchase another one. NO REFUND JUSE A SORRY. [...]will be sure to keep an eye on it because you only have a 1 year warranty. IF YOU DECIDE TO PURCHASE ONE "GOOD LUCK" It does make good coffee just poor quality brewer!!!

Best coffee maker we have ever owned

We have had this brewer for several years and had no problems or issues with it. Still works great and we will never change to a different type brewing system. We even have the mini system that goes on the road with us and vacations too!

Here is the good and the bad

Pros: Easy to use. Beautiful Machine. Now here is the bad. It boggles my mind that for almost [$] you would think this machine would not give you any problems. I bought my machine 7/2010. Here we are 2 months later and the machine says it is brewing but will not brew. Called Keurig and they had me sticking paperclips up the needles (odd) and still did not work. The nice thing is that they are sending me a brand new unit but i have to wait 5-10 days. Maybe I should have bought the less expensive unit. be prepared to possibly encounter some problems. I agree with other reviews that Quality control should be reviewed within this company so that they are not giving away new brewers after 2 months. If you do purchase this machine and are offered a chance to purchase an extended warranty DO IT PLEASE!!!!

Wonderful brewing system, however...

I absolutely love this machine, however, am disappointed that I am on my third brewer in 18 months. My first Platnum model ([$]) lasted 12 months, my second (Breville model $250.00) lasted 3 months, and I am on my third machine (Platnum model [$]) and it sounds like it has problems as well. On the first two machines both motors stopped working. The concept of these brewers is fantastic, but Keurig needs to step up the quality of their machines. Paying $590.00 in 18 months is very costly.

Cons: Brewer has short lifespan

Never A Problem

Bought the Platinum brewing system for Christmas 2009. We make several cups a day, starting off with the travel mugs size to take to work. My husband and I like different types, flavors, teas and can each be happy as we make it one cup at a time. I no longer can stand to drink a cup of coffee from our office pot. I will take an extra travel mug to ovoid that horrible overcooked sludge! Keurig, you're the best! Maybe I can get an office model soon!!! I don't know why so many have issues... never one problem!!! Sorry coffee house, you have lost my business! Got the frother for weekends. Like it too! Bought the Platinum for our son & daughter in law... they love it too without issues.
