A love-hate relationship with my Keurig

My husband and I use our machine every day. Often, several times a day. Our first unit died shortly before the warrantee ran out and customer service was great in sending us a replacement. Unfortunately, our second machine is starting to act up. I am hoping Keurig reads the comments and it working on the problems. I love the machine--when it works. But it is very frustrating when it isn't working. My machine seems to be clogged as water won't come thru the k-cup until I fiddle with the machine for about 10 minutes cleaning needles, powering off and on and pressing the brew button a few times. I have gone through the descaling process and clean the needles frequently. Please Keurig---please work on fixing the problems that seem SO prevalant!!
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes

Perfect for Discriminating Tastes

Although I drink 1-3 cups a day, I love having a choice. With traditional makers I have to use a lot of coffee to just make one cup. If I want a different kind for the next cup I waste even more. I love this machine. I haven't experienced any of the durability issues... but am pleased to read how their customer service seems to replace faulty units quickly and without question.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Single cup, Huge beverage variety, Easy to use, Buy K-Kups everywhere, Fast brew time

Still working at 18 months

A lot of people seem to be having problems with the hardware. Mine has some issues, but is still working properly after 18 months. I use RO filtered water (better than bottled). Here are some issues/solutions I had: 1) small cup size - I cleaned water reservoir and used a chopstick to gently poke in the valve at the bottom that releases water. That value sometimes becomes stuck with slime. 2) louder pumping noise - cleaned with vinegar as per Keurig instructions (about every 6 months). Follow the instructions exactly (the important part is letting the brewer sit 4 hours with vinegar inside it's boiler). Other than those 2 issues, I haven't experienced any others. The solutions seem to work, and the RO water may the thing that keeps my brewer working. If you have extremely hard water, you may consider using a softener or RO filtered water from the stores. All other makes: Breville, Cuisinart and Mr. Coffee are Keurig OEM machines. I believe Keurig's own machine has better reliability than the others.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Fragile, Occasional pump noise, Small cup problem, Occasional Pump Problem

Rec'd as a gift Christmas '09. The Platinum had quite working by Oct. 2010. Disappointing for a $250+ coffeemaker!! However... called Keurig customer service in Dec. 2010. After just a few questions & cleaning instructons, the rep was able to make the decision that the machine was DONE! Within a few days, a new machine was on our doorstep. VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!
Pros: Multiple Settings

I am frugal by nature and bought the Keurig Coffee maker as a 'treat' for myself. What I just realized is that in the long run I am saving money. I don't leave half a pot of wasted coffee and I am able to regulate my caffeine intake much better. If I want to be even more economical I can use the attachment that allows me to use the coffee that I purchase in bulk. All in all, it's easy to brew with very little mess, and if you buy in bulk it's about 43 cents a day for a great cup of coffee.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes

Keurig has THE BEST customer service!

I also have had a few issues with my brewers but Keurig has unbeatable customer service. No run around. Direct and truly these people want to find the solution for you. I have had two replacements and in saying that I have purchased four other brewers for gifts. I love this company and their products. They will get the bugs fixed and I have all the faith in them. In the meantime, I support them and applaud their customer service. I will ride the wave of the small issues the brewers have and stick it out for the long run with this company. All other companies should take a long hard look at how Keurig treats their customers, one by one with such personal service. There is not another company that comes to mind that even rates as these fine people do. Customer service @ Keurig....thank you.
Pros: Easy to use

I had the less expensive Keurig coffee maker for about 3 years. It just stopped working. I felt it was due to our hard water and when I had a filtered water system installed in our home I went out and purchased the Platinum unit. I love the Keurig concept (a fresh cup each time) and with my positive recommendations to friends they have also purchased units. However, I purchased this unit and during the first few days the plastic (cheaply designed)parts that move the K-cup forward so you can load the or remove the K-cup broke off. I was unable to fix it. Also just to make certain I would not have any hard water problems I purchased the filter system. Well, it doesn't stay in place, it just continues to float to the top. I still am using the unit manually inserting the K-cup, but I am shocked that the company would turn out such a poorly manufactured product and charge a premium price for it. I didn't register the unit (my fault) so feel that I have no recourse as to receiving a new replacement unit. It is just so disappointing. It still makes great coffee but I hope they start improving their product durability!
Pros: Stylish, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings, Easy to use
