Good System

Received a system as a Christmas (2010) present and have been using it every day to brew about 5 cups of coffee. I was never a big coffee drinker, but the coffee that this machine produces is coffee that I enjoy drinking daily - so I now have a new habit that includes a cup of decaf when I get home. Though K-cups are a bit spendy, it is enjoyable trying many of the different coffee flavors available. I have the timer set to come on right before I wake up, and turn off when I go to work. With the exception of loosing some settings during power outages (which are frequent where I live), this feature works well and saves energy. Hot chocolate - brewing this was not that positive of an experience - the water did not come out of the k cup until I removed it from the holder - like it was plugged up - not that great tasting either, but I usually make hot chocolate from scratch anyway, so not a big issue for me. Overall - excellent system that I am happy to have.
Pros: Convenient, Brews quickly, Coffee tastes great, Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use

Worked for four days....

I was extremely excited to get my own Keurig after my boyfriend raved about his so much. Mine broke in 4 days and I didn't even use it all four of them. Upon reading more reviews it seems quite common for these to break down. It now makes a very sad noise as it attempts to pump the water (we have used only filtered water, as recommended) and will "brew" drip by drip and then stops. I got less than a 1/4 of a cup of coffee after trying to brew several times this morning even with extremely slow brew times. I will certainly be returning it to the store from which this was purchased, luckily they have an excellent return policy. I cannot decide if I should replace it and try again or just give up on it. Too bad I have so many dang K-cups or the decision would be a no brainer!!
Cons: Breaks easily, Not Reliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love my Keurig! I use it multiple times daily, and very much enjoy a fresh cup of coffee every time.

Worth the $$$

This brewer has lived up to all of the hype I have been hearing for years. I waited for a long time to buy one and then received this Platinum as a Christmas gift from a family member who had heard me talking about it. I can not believe that I thought the brewer was too expensive, its worth every penny and I would not recommend waiting years for it to be bought for you as a gift. Great product and the selection of K-cups is amazing.

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Keep a back-up on hand

Our first brewer started to power off on it's own, lasted 6 months, Keurig replaced it. Our second brewer wouldn't brew a full cup, then wouldn't brew at all, lasted 8 months, Keurig replaced it. Our third brewer just brews when it wants to, it's been out of the box for 10 days! Although I'm not impressed with how unreliable they are, they make darn good coffee and are a real treat to have around (when working) We take great care of our brewer(s). De-scaling, rinsing, we even use filtered water. They just don't have a long life span. Keurig is honest enough to follow through on their warranty, which is the only reason why we haven't given up and gone back to a $20 coffee pot. When this brewer is working, it is a dream come true. When it's not, well, you better hope you have some caffiene patches on hand because it can take a few weeks to get your replacement brewer. I hope Keurig can resolve some of their *common* issues and make these brewers worth the price.

Cons: Not durable, Short life span

Bought 2 stopped dispensing water

Drink 2 cups every day. Love the convenience but it is hard to find coffee unless I order it. Also I have bought two for myself and both have suddenly stopped dispensing water after about a year. Too much of an investment if it is going to be a short term appliance.
Pros: Convenient
Cons: Water dispenser stopped

I do not know where to begin! I am on my 3rd machine.. and now it is starting to act up! Will not brew correctly,shuts off. I clean it the way I was told to clean it by Keurig..and it is still not working right. Use a paperclip..use vinegar..let it sit for awhile.. Still doesnt work right! I've had enough! Not worth over $100... VERY Disappointed!
Cons: Complicated, Fragile, Poor quaility, HARD TO CLEAN

convenient coffee every day

I was down to only weekends on my previous grind and brew - making a pot and going through all the cleaning was more than I was willing do to for a cup before going to work. The Keurig makes it very easy to just brew and go, taking the travel mug with me. Ditto for evening coffee on the rare occasions when that is what we want.
Pros: Easy to use, Multiple Settings, Durable, Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN
