Not reliable

Unfortunately our Platinum Keurig stopped making coffee. Did the descaling, cleaned everything. Still wouldn't work. We have had it for a little over one year. Our first Keurig still works, it is not the platinum. I plan on buying another one but concerned about the reliability. They all seem to have problems.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Easy to use

Love this brewer

Love this product for home, I drink decaf and my husband drinks regular. We have an array of choices available at the same time and the machine has worked hard for us for a year and half with no problems at all. This was a Christmas gift that has not failed to please. Now to get my favorite coffee maker to start making K Cups.....
Pros: Stylish, Allows individual choices, Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Fast and Convenient
Cons: Confusing at first, HARD TO CLEAN

Super Great Brewing System

After the Doc's office I work in got one I had to have my own. Both I and my fiance are everyday coffee drinkers and with the B70 it just doesnt get any easier. She hated it until she used it once. Now she see's why I got it. Between us we brew up around 10-14 cups a day. No problems at this time. Use Brita filered water in it and the coffee tastes great. As the coffee goes, bold is how we like it so this hits the spot!! With the exception of my first cup of the day, we use the 12oz option. I like hunting deals so the cups are fun to find. In the end this system is saving us money because there is no waste. No more burnt coffee down the drain or nuking cold stuff. I cant see why some have durability issues with the brewer. Raise the arm, put cup in, close arm, place cup, push button. Super easy. Easy to clean as well. Believe me, until I saw and used it in the office I would have not got one. More importantly if I do have any problems in one years time I will be back to blast it. For now two out of two B70s are alive and working well. PS. A little tip for your cups. If you have room store them in the frig. One, it extends their life and second it they wont puff the coffee out when punctured by the brewer.

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Do not buy this brewer!

I purchased my first brewer after Christmas over a year ago. It lasted only a few months. It began shutting itself off mid-cycle after trying to pump the water into the brewer. The machine would also short cup. The machine then started taking longer and longer before it would allow itself to be turned back on. I reported the problem to customer service and they immediately replaced the machine. I registered the replacement the first week of March. It lasted 12 months and one week. The warranty does not cover replacement after a year. This machine just shut off one day and will not come back on. I feel terrible that I encouraged several people at work to buy one of these for their homes as well as my own father. My father's has since quit working as well as two people from work. I decided to spend the extra money and go with a totally automated coffee brewer that is wonderful. Do your research before buying this coffee machine.

Cons: Fragile, Not durable, Not worth the money, Breaks without warning

I had a B40 for 3 years and really liked it -- even gave it to my daughter-in-law. But the Platinum brewer does everything I could possibly want and I have retired all other coffee makers. It comes up really fast, shuts down on a timer (or not), brews water to 192 degrees for perfect tea using a K-Cup or a tea bag, has a huge water tank easily refilled, and I can easily find the cup size I want. I really like the little blue lights in the water reservoir. It's a workhorse with class!!!

Great when it is working!

I love my Keurig and so does my husband, friends and family. However, I bought my first one almost 1 1/2 years ago and I am on my 5th one! Yes, you read right... I just received my 4th replacement last week. I did notice that there where some minor changes (upgrades) to the one I just received, like the mesh thing over the hole in the water reservior. Customer service is nice and tries to be helpful with the troubleshooting but my Keurigs have had a variety of issues. 2 had a problem with short cupping, 1 had a problem with shutting off and the last one had a problem with not brewing (it would say it was brewing, but no water came out). I did learn on my last call to customer service that the K-cup that are over inflated may cause a problem with coffee grains shooting up into the brewer when punctured by the top needle, so we know press them down to pucture the bottom of the k-cup first. We no longer use hot cocoa or tea k-cups as we where advised that some of the problems we had with past brewers my have been caused by them. I really hope this 5th brewer makes it to at least a year! Wish us luck! The only reason I would recommend this to a friend in spite of all my problems is that when it is working, it is great! Also, customer service does work with your well even though the calls can be a bit time consuming and annoying.

This is the second Keurig machine I have owned. I am waiting on Keurig to send my replacement of this model as I write. I bought the machine a year and a half ago. It worked perfectly up until a week ago, when it started to brew only half full cups of coffee here and there, then stopped brewing all together and began discharging hot water into the water reservoir instead of in my cup! Fortunately, Keurig extended my warranty and is sending me a new machine! They better for how mad expensive this machine is and what a small fortune they sell these kcups for....I hope I have better luck with this new machine! Keurig better go back to the drawing board and build a better machine! I have read many reviews on this model and people have the same problem/complaint I do.

Cons: Poor Quality

Not worth the money

I purchased my Keurig Platinum 14 months ago, and I have used it daily--several cups a day. Although this product brews the best cup of coffee I have ever had home brewed, it breaks down frequently. At this point, I seem to have a computer glitch that is causing my brewer to draw water continuously from the reservoir while also spitting it out the funnel. It doesn't stop until the low water sensor turns on or the machine totally shuts itself off. Of course all this is happening JUST AFTER my warranty ran out. I would not suggest purchasing this particular brewer, but perhaps one of the other models is better built. I don't know that I am willing to risk another [$] on a brewer that will only work for a year.
