Plastic Coffee

I really wanted to love this coffee maker. So much so that this is actually the second time that I've tried a Keurig coffee maker in hopes that they had fixed the plastic taste that comes with their machines. Unfortunately, the first cup of coffee that I brewed with the K75 still had the signature Keurig strong plastic smell and taste that I had with the Keurig K60 that I bought a few years ago and then immediately returned. Yes, I've seen the reviews that tell you how to get rid of the plastic taste by running vinegar through the machine, but in my mind, the number of steps that it should take to get a product that makes a food or beverage to not taste like plastic should be zero. Honestly, even if you get the Keurig to not taste like plastic (running vinegar through it got rid of 90% of the smell and taste) do really trust what is still left in it? Even after getting rid of the plastic, the Keurig makes a cup of coffee that tastes like mud. I bought this unit because it can make a 12 oz cup, but on that setting, the K-cups that I tried turned out weak and tasteless. Even with the "My K-Cup", the only way that I could get a decent cup of coffee was to grind the beans so fine that they clogged the screen, took forever to brew, and left a ton of sludge at the bottom of the cup. This coffee maker is sub-par at best and limits itself by only heating water to a max of 192 degrees. Consumerreports.org states that the optimal brewing temperature is between 195 and 205 degrees so this product is limited out of the gate by its design. If you don't care about sub-par coffee that tastes like plastic and just want a quick puddle of brown water in you cup, go for the Keurig. Otherwise, get a decent drip brewer and actually enjoy what you're brewing.

Love it

My husband bought me this for Christmas, and I love it! My whole family uses it, even my seven year daughter uses it to make apple cider or hot chocolate. This is such an asset in my home cause we are very much coffee drinkers and tea and the different beverages they offer. This machine gets used about 10-15 times a day. I love love this machine and would most definetly refer a friend to buy it

My lifesaver !

The only issue I have with this machine is that when you turn it off over night and turn it on in the morning it takes about 5 minutes just for the machine to start up otherwise this is a pretty amazing brewer and I'm in love with it !

fix the "prime" issue

I have had 3 keurigs before receiving the platinum for Christmas. We never had a problem with our other machines therefor they have made there way to the office and our shop. The new machine worked less then a month before it started with the "prime" display. We are lucky to get one cup a day out of the machine. We have followed the reset and cleaning directions, we use bottomed water so I don't understand how the water can be the issue. I will be calling keurig and if they don't rectify the problem with this machine we will not be purchasing about her of this brand.

I absolutely LOVE this maker. I use this multiple times a day and I love that my husband can have his own coffee, I can have my own flavor, and my daughter can make her hot cocoa with it. It allow multiple cup sizes as well as strength options. I will never go back to a 12-cup maker.

Love our Keurig 75 Platinum

We've had our Keurig since Christmas Eve (about 5 weeks) & Love it! It's an Expensive way to drink coffee & tea & cocoa but my wife & I each have our own flavors and don't have to share a full pot that one of us may not care for. Another huge plus is that every cup is fresh & tastes great! No more burnt coffee! We each have multiple flavors we like! Buying K cups from Keurig is cheaper that our local stores but still pricey. Over all, the whole family Loves it!
Pros: Multiple Settings, Fast, Stylish, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value
