Good until it dies on you

The Keurig Platinum is a very sleek looking unit. It allows you to change water temps., choose different cups sizes, and brews fast. I've had mine for only 4 and half months before the pump went out. It just stopped pumping water and I only used purchased filtered water from watermill express so I had 100% clean water. Never had an issue with calcium build up, etc.. After reading so many reviews recently, this is a well known and very common problem that is an obvious design flaw. Yes Keurig will replace the defective unit in you are under warranty, however they have yet to actually fix the pump issues with these units to prevent them from breaking. Many people have gone through several units already and I'm not going to be surprised if the new unit that is sent to me breaks as well. Keurig really needs to step up and fix this issue instead of constantly sending out new units to people. It must cost them less to do that then fix the issue. If you dont plan to make coffee/tea, etc. often then it may last longer for you, but dont be surprised if you buy one the pump eventually stops working. I wouldnt buy one today if I knew about these issue before. I love the concept, but am disappointed with Keurig and the fact that they haven't fixed or came up with a new pump design that lasts.

Got this as a Christmas gift and my B70 started the ol half cup after 1.5 years. I would descale the dang thing every few months and we only ever used PUR filtered water. After descaling two nights in a row with the undiluted vinegar sitting in the Keurig over night it still wouldn't work properly. Called up Keurig and after a few minutes WHAM...I'm getting a new Keurig!!! Awesome customer service, just wish they could fix the clogging issue.

Cons: Clogs easily

I love,love,love my keurig. It's fast and convenient. The only complaint is that it started having an intermittent problem at about a year old and just got worse. The customer service rep was very patient and helpful. After going over a few things she determined that it needed replacing and is sending out a new one at no charge. All I have to do is send back the K-cup holder from my old machine. There are many companies out there that could benefit from Keurig's way of doing business. Customer service was excellent. Thank you.

Mourning the death of my machine.

I'm on my third Keurig machine, and it finally died this morning. I'll miss it. The quality of the Platinum series is not up to par. I've had this machine for less than 2 years, the first platiinum died within 6 months. About 6 months ago it started short-cupping - and returning water to the tank. I've nursed it along by only filling the tank by not removing the tank and using a separate water jug. This seemed to make the short cupping better and infrequent. Last week it started dripping water when not brewing. This morning it would not power on. Its dead. While I like the keurig machines, i wont be getting a Platinum. I'm hoping to find one that will last long.
Pros: Fast, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes

our son & daughter-in-law loved ours so i bought them one. Theirs quit working in under a year, then ours gave up the ghost in less than a year and a half.I will not buy keurig again.

To much trouble

Was having trouble after just few month fixed problem and started Again 2 month later and now again they are sending Me a new one now hope it works better now. Hope they fixed The problem for good now.

Cons: HARD TO CLEAN, Complicated, Pricey / Poor Value

If you clean out the machine and change the filter every 3 months I'm sure you won't have a problem. Using filtered water helps too. I love this machine!

Short life expectancy

We bought this machine Feb 2010 & now it's dead 15 months later. First it started short-cupping and then it more or less quit brewing altogether. It would dump the hot water back into the reservoir. When you factor in the cost of replacing the coffee maker this frequently along with the cost of the K-cups, one might as well go to Starbucks/DD everyday, or go back to a drip coffee maker. The reliability of this coffee maker is extremely short for the money.
Pros: Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Fast
Cons: Not durable, Pricey / Poor Value
