I am on my 3rd brewer of this type in 10 months and now it's broken. [...] I have done all of the troubleshooting things (after 4 brewers you get good at it).I wished I could get my money back but that is only available the first 30 days of purchase. [...]I can't emphasize enough how bad this product is. It is absolutly wonderful when you first get it. You get hooked on the easy quick cup of great coffee and then reality sits in. I have not had one of these models work longer than 3 months and I only use distilled water.I purchased one for my sister last Christmas and her machine has had to be replaced also. It makes a GREAT cup of coffee when it works. I am going take my loss and look around for a different brand or if not; then I will go back to my old drip one. At least that one is dependable and I get my cup of coffee each morning [...]

This machine is awesome for a delicious, quick cup of coffee anytime of the day. The reviewers who say the motor runs then it shuts off are just impatient. Mine has done that, but it is because the water reservoir has been removed and not placed exactly right. It seems to be a sensitive placement, but instead of crying fowl and throwing the machine in the landfill, simply move it around a bit until it seats properly. You can tell when it's right because it makes a different motor sound and you can hear the water move. My solution is to leave the reservoir in place and fill it from a glass or whatever instead of removing and replacing the reservoir. Yes, maybe it's a temporary design flaw, but there is an easy work around. I am by no means a genious, but was able to figure this one out without calling customer service. Not a big deal for all that the machine offers otherwise.

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Problems...1/2 cups of coffee w/grounds

Bought this and loved it so I bought my sister one. Now we are both having the same problems...we only get 1/2 or less of coffee. On mine I push the brew button and "nothing" happens - but the water goes down. I push it again and the water goes down and I MAY get 1/2 cup or less. Grounds over flow into my cup and I have at least 1/4 tsp of grounds in my cup. We both love the coffee...but the machine is NOT worth the money for this platinum system. Keurig has a LOTS of bugs to work out on this machine, and should have before marketing it. Now I am out of a LOTS of money for 2 of these! I hate to have to go to customer service and deal with the stupid "tricks" they want you to do. I want to just return the machine and be done with it.

I use Keureg as a backup to my expresso maker. I leave it to guests who aren't particular about coffee strength.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Good Brewer
Cons: Coffee Choices Limited, Complicated

Working out the Bugs

I like this brewer, however, it has had a couple of issues. The 1st PBS that we rcvd was gr8t til it wouldn't stay on & was cutting off by itself. So we returned that 1 & rcvd the 1 I currently hv. It was working 2 PERFECTION then 1 day it started 2 shortcup me. I thought, well, it'll get bttr. It didn't. It got worse. :-/ So I called Keurig (cust. svc is AMAZING). Come 2 find out u need 2 descale this brewer every 1.5 - 2mo. Ok, I descaled. It worked great & then the day after that it started 2 short cup me again. Hmmmmm. Approx 2 wks went by b4 I had the time 2 call thm again. This time I also spoke w/a tech. We (I) cleaned the needle, both top & bottom, & 4 now it is working. I am just not sure whether or not I would recommend this particular brewer 2 frnds yet. Again, I MUST say their cust svc is exemplary! Very kind & patient. TY Keurig 4 encouraging these qualities in ur employees.

Our Platinum is great, we love it and even picked one up for friends. I'm perplexed by some of the negative comments. I suspect that some don't understand how to operate their Keurig which is hard to fathom because it's so easy. We emptied our local supermarket of stock and just ordered some more varieties on line.
