Great machine until it stopped working suddenly after 9 months....Like other reviews, I spoke with company and after "descaling", plugging in and out ten times, resetting the machione we were able to get about a week's use and then it stopped working altogether! No amount of re plugging in and out (20 times), cajoling or other entreaties would the machine will make coffee!Keurig promised to replace the machine-we'll see if it happens. Beyond this I am really disgusted that a [$] coffeemaker doesn't last a year! At these prices I expect it to work 20 years without fail-not 9 months. The machine looks cool with its blue LED tank water but I want it to work not just look chic. My old Braun coffee machine NEVER stopped after TEN years-good thing we kept it!!CAVEAT EMPTOR
Pros: Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Stylish, Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN

waiting for my 4th machine

To recap: 1st machine was a Select. Worked for 4 days and quit. Returned to store and replaced w/the Platinum. That one brewed 2 cups of coffee and quit. This time I called Keurig. They sent me a new Platinum and 2 boxes of coffee. It arrived yesterday. We brewed 3 cups yesterday and it worked great. Did about 5 this morning (we have guests) and once again it quit. Same problem as the previous 2 machines and as the hundreds of other reveiws I've read. So now they're sending me what will be my 4th machine plus some free coffee. All this free coffee doesn't do me any good if I don't have a working machine! I guess I should just give up and get my money back. But I have friends whose machines work great and I do have hope that eventually I will get a working machine. I would really like to see Keurig get out in front of this and FIX THE OBVIOUS DEFECT in these machines.

Platinum Brewer has durability problem

I purchased the Platinum brewer December '09. As of May '10 it died. It will not pump from the water container into the brewer. I have descaled it as the directions instruct and it did no good. [...] WOW! Keurig you need to get a new quality control division. Most of the reviews have the same issue(pump failure). I had a Senseo brewer before this Keurig and the Senseo is 5 years old and still working just like it did the day I purchased it. I switched to Keurig because of the greater coffee selection, but now I am thinking I made an expensive mistake. I can not recommend the Keurig at this point.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Great coffee flavor, Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN, Not durable, Fragile
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great brewers - EASY fixes

I have bought 4 of these. Not because they don't work, but to gift to others. Was worried about reviews, but after calling support (great help) learned that the top water inlet can get clogged from pressurized cups. Cleaned with paperclip in 5 seconds, and started pressing the cups in before closing, never a problem again. Yes, seemed like it wasn't pumping water either.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Durable, Stylish, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes

ipurchased my first brewer (elite series)one year ago fell in love then upgraded to the platium. I purchased it off QVC it lasted one week then totally quit working. I then purchased another platium brewer it lasted 3 days then also quit. I called keurig and they replaced the brewer and added 2 boxes of complimentary coffee (whichwas nice). The only problem was I had purchased red and they replaced it with black(be nice to have the one I purchased but they did replace it) Ihave had it for about 4 months and no problems. I also purchased a mini plus last week and love it too. People complain but it sure beats measuring coffee and water and waiting forever for coffee. Other makers take to long and make too much racket to make coffee not to mention the mess. the Kcups are pricey but filters and coffee arent cheap either not to mention what you discard and no pot or basket ever to clean. This brewer is AWESOME and will never be without one EVER!!I now own three differnt ones and love them all. THANKS KEURIG!!!P.S The elite model still works.
Pros: Durable, Easy to use, Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish
Cons: Have not found a con

Dysfunctional Brewer

If it wasn't for the finest customer/tech service I have ever dealt with, this company might have closed it's doors. The phone reps are polite, kind and support the product (Platinum and Special Edition)no matter how poorly designed and dysfunctional they are. I have encountered every symptom that was discussed in every review for the past 5 brewers I owned. All have been exchanged. I have performed every preventative maintenance task that has been suggested by the phone reps and the operator's manual. To no avail, each unit fials similarly. Even tried the old paper clip trick which did not work. Not sure why this needs to be done when the brewer fails to give a full cup right out of the box. The bottom line is that the Design/Engineering team should seriously realize they are taking the decent reputation that it has and moving it to the bottom of the ranks as long as they are letting dysfunctional, incompetent products roll out of their factory.I am surprised their upper management hasn't put a stop to the 98% replacement rate of the Special Edition and Platinum brewers. Each employee should take home a brewer after the ROOT cause has been found and fixed. The employee should test it for 6 months and any type of failures are reported and Keurig should start the whole process over again until they get it right. You have a very clever product that does not have longevity and END USERS in mind. Keurig- you should warranty the brewers for 3 years till you get it straight and give the unfortunate customers that you may still have a new brewer as you knew the many were going to fail. Keurig Management: Read the internet about the dsysfunctional brewers that you are putting out. Why does everyone say almost the same 3-4 things on how theirs has failed. Lemons belong on trees and not on coffee brewers. If you fail to make this product work correctly right out of the box, you will lose your customers. We think you are smart- just have a product that works. Today, I would have to say that no one should buy one of the brewers until they have found and solved all the issues. Thanks for letting me write this as I am tired of returning cup holders.
Pros: Easy to use, Multiple Settings
Cons: Fragile

I am the only coffee drinker in my home and have one cup each morning - this is the 4th machine in 18 months -- worst machine and is not work the money I paid for it I see from the other reviews that Kuerig is aware of this issue and from what I have seen they have done nothing to fix it --- I guess they just expect us to contue purchasing a machine every 3 months -- Gotta say I am done --
Pros: Multiple Settings, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Does not hold up

I love this machine. Heat ups relatively quickly, and allows you to make multiple different drinks one after the other with no cleanup. Just make sure you have enough water in the chamber, pick your k-cup, pick your cup size on the screen, hit brew and 30 seconds later you have a delicious cup of hot/iced coffee or tea. The hot chocolate isnt so great b/c its (obviously) made with water instead of milk. I hear theres also hot apple cider now, which i haven't tried yet. If you don't have much time in the morning, and rush out the door like I do, I would definitely try this. Saves so much time, and you don't have to waste an entire pot of coffee, or ever worry about freshness. It even accomodates most travel mugs as well. Try it, I'm sure you'll fall in love..and if you don't like it, return it!
