Could be better.

Purchased unit early December. Had trouble about two weeks after using, with the unit brewing a cup, not drawing water from tank, and then shutting down on its own. Then recently it had trouble brewing a full cup at all. Contacted customer service, after 20 min on hold talked to a very nice lady and she told me a tech specialist would contact me within 24 to 48 hrs. During this waiting period I did the de-scaling procedure. After I did that, it was worked fine. I've only had it a month and a half. They did contact me 48 hrs later and were ready to send me a new one. I told them they could keep it after reading reviews with the same type of problems that I had. It would be a perfect 5 star rating if it weren't for this problem. When it does finally quit working, I guess I'll find something else. Some of the other models don't seem to have this problem. Sounds like it might have been rushed through R&D.
Pros: Stylish, Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use
Cons: Unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my brewer....but...

I had my first brewer for a year, and although it was loud it was definately love at first cup. Then, my husband and I got an email from QVC about the Platinum and fell in love with the cinnamon colored one. He ended up buying me the Platinum as a surprise Christmas present. I love the choice of cup sizes and how much noise it doesn't make. Well now, like others, it has stopped pumping water and turns its self off. I will be calling and hopefully getting a replacement because I really do love it. AND even though they are having such a problem with this batch (which I am sure is because they got a bad batch of circuit boards or something for them) I would still recommend the machine to friends. It's not ususual for bad batches of items to happen once in a while so I am looking at it as just "one of those things"....hopefully though they will make it right for me, but I will be sad if they can't send me a cinnamon colored one, because I really do love it ;)

Great coffee maker...a friend got one for Christmas and swore by it. She made me a cup of coffee and I was sold. It's great. So quick for when you're running out the door and it makes excellent coffee. Great assortment!

Just a update from end of Feb. on our Platinum Brewer. We got the new brewer on Feb. 24, 2010 and it worked fine some what until March 4, 2010. It seemed liked the first cup of day always screwed up when making ex: wrong amount of water for cup desired would have to use different size cup to make up for the amount that wasn't pumped first time. Since then things have went down hill again, almost doing this everytime we run the machine now you never know how much water is going to come out. Have wasted a few K cups but They have given us a few free coffees for our trouble with all 6 brewers. Called customer service after just getting plain fed up again and as usual Customer Service was glad to accomadate us by saying they would send us another Platnium Brewer, they are always very pleasant to deal with. Now we are getting to the point were we feel like we are the only one's having the problem and almost embarassed to call and gripe again. In my opinion you would think they would discontinue making this model till problem is solved and send me something even if it is a upgrade, if there is one, so this problem could be resolved soon?? Again they are standing behind the product and Customer Service was outstanding as always!!!
Pros: Water is Hot
Cons: Pump works part time, Water amount wrong
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Well, I am going to call today for a new unit. The reps have been fantastic in the past. My first one lasted about 3 weeks, the second one 2 weeks, and the one they just sent me only one day. I don't abuse the maker... in fact I am still on half the coffee received with the second unit.I love the idea and ease to use, but they are going to have a real black eye on these units.I purchased mine from a very large warehouse store and I notice they no longer have them online (although they still sell the coffee). The first one I returned to the box store and received new coffee with the returned unit. The second one, I called Kurig from this site and I received a new one [...].I still want one because the coffee is great and I don't have to smell burning coffee all day long in my office like I do when my Bunn is plugged in.I think I'll try to get a commercial model. Reading those reviews I don't see the same problems.Would I recommend this to a friend?... heck yeah, but I would warn them about this particular model and encourage to investigate the others available.

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

When it works.....

When this machine works right, it is the best cup of coffee you could ask for. I loved coffee before Keurig, but now I am hooked! However, we have had several problems with it working. We have an in line water filter, and we also bought a Keurig water filter, but scale seems to still build way too fast. Also, slowly but surely, our cup size keeps decreasing. It finally completeley bit the dust after 10 months. I will say Keurig has been great to work with and 100% stands behind their product. I am very disappointed that we will not get our replacement until April, but maybe it will be a new and improved version! We did buy another one from[...] as a backup. We do love it that much.

Cons: Doesn't seem to last long, Complicated

Stopped making bad coffee after four months. That is, it stopped making coffee entirely. Today, I've already wasted any time I'd previously saved using this "Platinum" edition just trying to get it to work. Oh, and the K-Cups allow me to kill the environment practically single-handedly.
