Does NOT last

I received this for Christmas last year 2010 and it stopped working by Christmas 2011. I followed all of the directions to keeping in good working order and with no warning just stopped pumping. I think Keurig should look into who programmed these machines, they may have a virus in the computer or something set to stop working after a certain number of days. They should find a different manufacturer. Keurig sent me a new one but I was very disappointed because I had the cinnamon red and they only had the black for replacements. I was told the replacement would be the exact model I had but a different color. When I received the replacement it was not the exact model I had but similar. It still had all the functions and cup sizes as the red one but the size, shape, water dispener etc were totally different. I just received my relacement yesterday, I hope it lasts. I love the keurig but they really need to do something to make them last.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value

Worked flawlessly out of the box

I received the Keurig Platinum Brewing System as a Christmas gift. I followed the instructions carefully, rinsing the unit one time followed by my first brew. The unit worked flawlessly on the first brew and the coffee tasted great! There was no hint of the taste of plastic as reported by others. As the only coffee drinker in our household, this is a fantastic and convenient product!
Pros: Fast, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Accommodates larger cups, MAKES GREAT COFFEE, Durable, Multiple Settings
Cons: Should include "My K-Cup"

Perfect Coffee Maker

I would like to adjust the fluid OZ even though it has 5 sizes available. It would be nice to have a 20oz, Although you would need a k-cup that could handle that much water to still have a good coffee.
Pros: Easy to use, Fast, Multiple Settings

They do not last very long!

We love the Platinum, but they are not worth the price if they last less than 15 months. First, we descale our coffeemaker regularly. We got our 1st Platinum for Christmas 2009. In October 2010, the pump started making strange noises and it stopped pumping out water. After a couple of calls to customer service, the troubleshooting tips did not work, so they replaced my unit. All was well until this week. Our replacement model started making strange noises when pumping, and now it no longer pumps out water. I've been through all of the troubleshooting tips to no avail. The pump is broken again. Only this time, there is no replacement because it is out of warranty. Like I said before, we cleaned and descaled both units regularly. We loved them when they worked. If you are thinking of buying one, BUYER BEWARE! You may not get much more than a year out of it.

Cons: Fragile, Pricey / Poor Value
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love it!

We only use RO water in our Keurig. It brews the perfect cup every time. I can see how one of these would fail, (especially the pump) using the water that comes through our city water system. We love our Keurig and we drink coffee 24/7. It is expensive though because you have to buy the k-cups and they are much more expensive than a regular can of coffee. I wanted this for me but my husband has taken it over! I cannot keep k-cups coming fast enough!
Pros: Easy to use, Fast, Multiple Settings, Stylish

3rd machine in less than a year

This is my 3rd Platinum machine in less than 1 year. My household only drinks about 3-4 cups a day, yet the pump seems to break in about 3 months of use. I'm hoping that my third machine will be able to last for a couple of years. If not, I'm buying the Cuisinart, I've heard from the salesperson at K_hl's that they never get them returned for defects. By the way, buy your coffee machines at K_hl's, they have a no question, no receipt return policy! If I had to send my machine back to Keurig and buy another to wait for them to exchange or fix the defected one, I wouldn't bother owning this machine...which I may not anyway, in 3 months!

Great machine with limited service life

Love the convenience of this machine. The coffees are great. No waste. I would recommend the machine but give the service life of the machine caveat. Mine lasted just under two years using soft water run through a reverse osmosis system. I made about 2 to 4 cups a day.
