I absolutely love this system!!!

I received my first Platinum as a gift, 12/2010. My kids set it up for me, and I forgot to descale it, until the message came on. Then went through whole process twice. It worked for another 2 months, and then quit. However, I feel that this was due to USER ERROR. Dec. of 2011 I purchased 2 Platinum units for gifts. Decided to keep one for myself. Started to use in mid to late Jan. 2012. So far, it has worked perfectly. I have descaled it twice in that time, and have always used bottled water in both the first and second units. The one that I gave as a gift, unfortunately stopped working, for my friend. Unkown reason. (4/19/2012) BUT, I was told by my friend that the CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS WONDERFUL! The Keurig people are sending a brand-new unit to him. I will continue to buy more for gifts. I love the wonderful options of having 5 sizes. This is great for single people who may not want to brew an entire pot, on a daily basis, as well as when you have company, and may have guests who prefer different flavors and/or types of brew. I feel that the investment is worth every penny. For people like me, who love their coffee, it is the best maker on the market! What a delight to wake-up each morning, knowing that you can have the greatest cup of coffee available, right at home! I will never be without one again. Between the high quality of the coffee taste, and the wonderful Customer Service, I will be a customer for life. How could a coffee lover go wrong?? Enjoy your system, when you get it.

Platinum Died After 15 Months

I loved this coffee maker, but when such a pricy unit fails after only 15 months, it's not the right product for me. From the reviews, clearly, the Platinum model has a very short life. If you have to have this model, buy the extended warranty for sure!!

Cons: Broke too soon

One expensive cup of coffee

This is my second Keurig Platinum brewer. My first one was defective and I returned it to the store for a new one. This one has lasted a year (I live alone and am the only who uses it). My warrenty just ran out 2 weeks ago, but after reading the reviews, I don't think they will replace it. I didn't mind the cost as I loved the convenience but if I have to replace the unit every year I might as well go to Starbucks every day - so , I guess I'll be throwing it out my somewhat new Keurig, but will not buy another one. . not from Keurig anyway.
Pros: Easy to use, Fast, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings, Stylish
Cons: Complicated, Pricey / Poor Value
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome Brewing System

This Keurig is an amazing design. I love how easy it is to use and how convenient it is. It's perfect for when you're in a hurry and need a quick pick-me-up. Looks sleek on the counter which is also a plus.

Help with problems love my Keuring!!

For all of you that have problems, here are some fixes! 1. Use filtered water 2. Use the charcoal filters in the machine, well worth it. Keeps you from having to de scale 3. Every now and then run just plain hot water w/o any coffee through it. This cleans the needles nicely. 4. One time a month, pull out the K cup holder and clean it out by running hot water through it from the faucett. 5. Do these things and you will not have any problems! We had to replace the machine 3 times without any hassles I might add, but once I figured out all the above, it has been 2 years and not one single problem since then. So, it is worth it to do the above, for the greatest cup of coffee you will ever get.. On a consistent basis. Hope this helps and changes your perspective on using and owning a Keurig!

Stopped brewing correct cup sizes after a few months. Descaled and cleaned the machine more often. After 1.5 years the machine started having water pour back into the water chamber. Around 2 years it started leaking. We changed out water chamber but it is still leaking and not brewing correct cup sizes. Very disappointed that it did not last past 2 years.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value

Love it so far!

Have owned/used unit for 1 month now. We love it! Bought it to use in our RV during trips but now have it on the counter in our home for everyday use. Was disappointed to see the reviews though from long time users. We have a water distiller in our home so that is the only water we use in the unit. I hope this will prevent the water "scaling issue" that I read about in the other reviews.

Good coffee, poor quality machine

Used the machine daily, best cup of coffee we've every had although that depends on the variety of coffee used. After 18 months the brewer stopped working. Followed procedure for descaling; did not solve the problem (would not brew). Customer service would not replace; have to purchase another brewer. [$] is a lot of money for a coffee maker that only lasts less than two years, on top of expensive coffee.
