Repeated Warranty Replacements
on January 6, 2012

I have owned this machine for over 2 years, but not the same exact machine. I've had it replaced 3 times through warranty due to issues with "priming" or not pulling water through the reservoir. I clean it regularly, use all items recommended for continued health of the system but it just tends to have a problem with one of the two mentioned above issues. I do advise NOT leaving unit on for long periods of time, long time idle on this unit with the heat of the lights under the water reservoir tend to cause bad water smell/taste and spoil the water despite using a filtration item from Keurig to keep the water clean and filtered. Long time heat from the lights under the reservoir tend to be the culprit, so I often turn it off between use or just remove the reservoir from the unit to keep the water from smelling "algae-ish". I am pleased as a consumer that they continue to warranty their devices, but still am frustrated why I continue to suffer the same issues over and over. I use the machine 3-4 times a day minimum, using K-cups and the make-your-own coffee pods in the system. I like that I can use my own grounds or the pre-made pods.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings, Easy to use

CUSTOMER SERVICE GREAT POINTS AND BAD

When my platinum brewer stopped pumping water to brew I phoned the customer service # and told them the serial # on my brewer. After going through a series of troubleshooting steps they said they would send out a replacement brewer. I thought that was great as they did not ask for a copy of a bill to be sent just the k-cup holder from my broken brewer. I confirmed it was a Platinum model with the service desk but a short while later when I recieved an email to confirm a new brewer was being sent I noticed it was an Elite model they were sending. I phoned again within an hour of the first conversation and I was assured that the error would be corrected and a Platinum brewer was on its way. After coming home from work one day I saw the courier had been to my home with the delivery. The next day I took my lunch hour to drive to the courier office for my package. When I got home an opened it up...you guessed it!! Wrong model!! I phoned again and they said the Platinum was on it's way. Finally after taking a second lunch hour to go pick up package I have recieved the correct brewer. Now I have two new brewers waiting for word from Kuerig to come get the wrong model. Other than that experience I love the brewer but it is obvious they have a quality problam. I have read hundreds of poor reviews on several websites saying the same thing. Brewers stop pumping.... The reputaion for Keurig brewers is dropping...GET THE QUALITY ISSUES FIXED!!!!!!!

Brewer is in our company kitchen area. Says it's brewing, but 75% of the time nothing comes out. Unplugging then plugging back in seems to be the only way to get it to brew.
Pros: Goodwhen it works
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, Won't Brew, Fragile, GROUNDS IN CUP, Takes too long

Great brewer that needs a great warranty

We've loved every one of our Keurig B70 brewers - which is good, because they seem to last only 6-9 months before croaking. We use it as an adjunct to our grinder pot - 8-10 cups per week on average. Our usual sign of impending death is the brewer refusing to make a whole cup - it instead returns half of the water to the reservoir. This is despite regular monthly descaling well before the brewer asks for it. To their credit, Keurig has been fantastic in dealing with these failures. In each case they have immediately sent out a replacement with no hassle. Their customer support is first-class. I really hope our newest replacement that just arrived has the bugs worked out!
Pros: Fast, Easy to use
Cons: Unreliable

Love the brewer, just wish...

Love the Platinum brewer for the variety of cup sizes and taste, but wish it was more durable. Brewed a great cup of coffee until the pump quit working, but customer service was terrific and my brewer was replaced in 3 days. Customer service is very important and the rep at Keurig was the best! I've known people who've had their brewers for years without trouble so, must have just got a bad pump. I won't go back to a drip maker ever.
Pros: Stylish, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Fast
Cons: Questionable durability

brewer is unreliable

I love the convenience of the Keurig brewer, however, the company MUST do something about its reliability. I am now on my 4th brewer in 2 years. Fortunately customer service has been amazing and replaced each brewer without charge (if they had not, I would have given up on the brewer). How about making this machine in the USA and giving our country jobs to make quality parts? Now that is something I would support! Anyway, I am hopeful that my 4th machine which is being shipped, will be improved from the last 3. I am only a single person that brewed about 3 cups per day. Each machine would start short-cupping and then eventually quit working after about 6 months-despite regular de-scaling. Definitely a problem with the pump.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Fragile, Pricey / Poor Value

Don't expect to use more than 2 years

I love the keurig's for the convenience and being able to have different coffee/tea at the drop of a hat. I've had 9 brewers. 5 I purchased friends as gifts, 1 for my small office and 3 now at home. 7 have not lasted more than 14 to 16 months...that's including the ones I gave as gifts. The 2 still working at the office and for a friend are only 4 months old. So, as much as I love the no mess and ease and convenience, I'm not sure it's worth spending so much money when my $99 back up coffee maker has worked for over 15 years. I'm trying one more. I've had the elite and the platinum so far and the platinum is quieter and nicer with more sizes/iced coffee feature. One was graciously replaced by keurig so that was nice of them. If you have money to buy a new brewer every year or so, it's great. If you're on a tight budget you may want to reconsider. And, if you're a coffee addict, keep your old brewer for back up! Thus, I recommend with a HUGE warning!
Pros: Easy to use, Convenient, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Fast, Stylish
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, Fragile, Don't last
