This is one loud fan... Sounds like it's going to take off or explode... Horrible to try and sleep too... I've had 5 of these over the years.... My 1st one ran for 3 years straight before it died... And it was quiet... The last 3 have been horrible and after 6 months in the trash! The one I have now is the worst one yet... Grinding noise drives me crazy!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased two of these fans, both for wall mount use. One failed after two months use. One lasted for a year and a half of continuous use. I don't expect a fan to last more than a year when almost always on six months at a time. But it should last more than two months.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Our 6 month old was not sleeping for long duration's through the night and the white noise machine was not doing the trick anymore. Purchased this fan and immediately on the first night baby slept only waking once to feed and now day naps have gone from 30 mins to over an hour! Thank you Holmes for allowing my baby and my wife and I get our sleep back!! I'd rate 11 stars if I could

This is a great fan, it's just loud. I love that it oscillates.

Used to be better

I had bought this fan 10 years ago when I went off to college and it was amazing. It actually made the air in my entire room COLD, even on 90-100 degree days. I don't know how it did it, but it did it. Once out of college, it was perfect because I didn't have to spend the money on air conditioning for my apartment. That fan worked perfectly up until a few months ago, when it just stopped one day. I bought another, and while it is ok, it does not make the room cold like the other one did, so I'm pretty disappointed.
