I bought this fan when another brand I'll gladly mention (COMFORT ZONE) sucked.
When I turned on the Holmes Blizzard....I was and still is a happy camper. I'm going out to buy another one.

Have used on low setting as they are a bit noisy but wow puts out a lot of cool air! Gets Very Hot here. Am confident will cut down on use of a/c. Great price also.

I love this fan! I bought the old model years ago back when it was white. A few months ago it finally gave up the ghost. After faithfully keeping me cool at night for many years, I woke up one morning and it was no longer spinning...(moment of silence)
This new model is physically the same accept for the cool new black color, the only difference from the old white version is the slow startup because of the new energy saving feature. Once it gets up to speed tho it is just as power full and effective as the old model and for such a small fan it dose pack a lot of power. I love this new fan just as much as it's predecessor. It really dose live up to the name Blizzard.
Thank you for making such a grate product and keeping it available for so long. Most companies drop old stuff for new cheaply made junk, or modify and up grade the thing till it is unrecognizable or barely functions the way it was originally meant to.

Good looking. moves a lot of air. Cons: Angle doesn't depress, so don't put it too high or you won't know it'w working except for the noise; and--- it is noisy.

I bought this about a year ago, sometimes I have to turn it off it blows so much air!! My husky loves it during the summer!! I've used it so much I needed to clean the blades of dust & of course Husky fur!! I've attached a photo of the 4 screws you need to remove from the back of the fan to clean the inside, pretty simple when you know where the screws are

We started using these Holmes Blizzard Fans about 10 years ago. I worked nights and needed something to keep the room cool and drown out the noise. We still use these fans religiously today for reducing noise and keeping the room cool. They typically last 3-4 years without any issues. When the motor doesn't start the fan blades immediately and it takes a few minutes for the fan to start it's
time to get a new one.
We love them and won't buy any other brand
and we also travel with one too.....lol !!

Cool air but...

I like how this fan actually generates cool air (as opposed to simply moving the stale air around like many of those vornados or circulators). However, there is a very high pitch whine that comes along with it. If you get headaches easily or are sensitive to piercing noises, this fan is not for you.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
