Automatic shut off does not work

After 6 months of use (and I don't use it much) the auto shut off stopped working. This is a total pain in the butt, because it will just boil and boil and boil. Is this not a safety hazard ?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Boils quickly, auto shutoff switch failed

This has lasted us three years but in the past 9 months the auto shutoff has not worked. We can't find parts and can no longer use it.

Broken switch

Like others here, the switch broke so it will only heat if the switch is held down. I suspect even that won't work for very long. It's been a good kettle for 10 years. I only wish replacement parts were available.

Sleek Modern Look

We've had this kettle for years. We got it as a wedding gift and I love useful wedding gifts. We always think of the people who gave it to us when using it every day so though there have been some issues, like others say, with the auto-shut-off, we don't care. It also looks great on the counter. But I did want to get a new one because after 8 years it's got a bit too much mineral build up that I'm not sure if it's damaged the metal bottom in a way that's unsafe. I guess we'll keep using it for now though since to get rid of it and replace it with a different design (none of which I like anyway) would be to get rid of the thing that reminds us of family. If we could get another of the same design it would be great and still be a reminder of their thoughtful gift and great design choice.
