Broken switch

Like others here, the switch broke so it will only heat if the switch is held down. I suspect even that won't work for very long. It's been a good kettle for 10 years. I only wish replacement parts were available.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Internal coating has eroded and being consumed

I'm very concerned that the inner coating, where the water is held, has been eroding over time. I noticed a bit of some material in my coffee, and after checking the kettle itself the coating has been flaking off for some time!
I am disgusted by this, and I am worried now for my health.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sleek Modern Look

We've had this kettle for years. We got it as a wedding gift and I love useful wedding gifts. We always think of the people who gave it to us when using it every day so though there have been some issues, like others say, with the auto-shut-off, we don't care. It also looks great on the counter. But I did want to get a new one because after 8 years it's got a bit too much mineral build up that I'm not sure if it's damaged the metal bottom in a way that's unsafe. I guess we'll keep using it for now though since to get rid of it and replace it with a different design (none of which I like anyway) would be to get rid of the thing that reminds us of family. If we could get another of the same design it would be great and still be a reminder of their thoughtful gift and great design choice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In a few years of use this model will fail, the tope plastic will break leaving the top to stay open.
