This update of my recently lost circa '86 Ironman is very nice size and clarity; however it came without instructions and the many functions don't work as did the original...so it's just a time and date piece for me. Sadly... Also find the resin strap retainer a nuisance.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am happier with this, my second Ironman, than I was with my first; which was awesome. Rugged as heck, utilitarian, stylish and very economical. Love it.
While this is not the original Ironman watch, it is a close second. My original watch (1986?) had a separate "start" button. This watch has an improved locking mechanism on thwe strap to help the keeper to stay in place, that is an improvement. The strap appears to be made of the same resin material as the original. That is not necessarily a good thing because the original strap broke and I had to replace it multiple times. But I generally do like (and still like) the original Ironman watch and will continue to wear it happily.
I have always worn the timex Ironman for several years and have always had excellent service with this watch...My old one has worked for at least 7 years and in fact it stills keeps perfect time, but looks beat up and old. It was time to get a new one!!!
