Some advice for owners

I have and SD780, 980, and sx130. This camera has, by far much better IQ. It is a bit large but with that comes the fantastic zoom I read several complaints about the lack of a hard copy manual. I find that downloading the PDF file and leaving it on the desktop of my computer and saving it on my phone is much easier. It is infinitely easier to search for things in that form.
Pros: great zoom and iq
Cons: too large to be a pocket camera

Excellent Film SLR Replecement

The SX40HS is my first digital camera and it is great. It does everything my old film SLR did and much, much more. The 35x zoom lens is amazing. If you include the 4x digital zoom, it can go from wide angle to 120x with just one compact lens. The LCD viewfinder does an excellent job replacing the SLR's thru-the-lens viewfinder. The owners manual is easy to follow and understandable. I have only owned it for two weeks, but it has performed flawlessly and has taken pictures that have amazed me. I recommend it without hesitation.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use, great lens, excellent viewfinder
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

I am not a professional photographer but decided to take pictures as a hobby. I researched many cameras and after checking reviews and videos decided this was the camera for me. I absolutely love it! This camera is Canon's best for amateur photographers. It is easy to use, the zoom is wonderful, and the pictures are beautiful. The only issues I have is learning the correct settings and knowing which and when to use them. This is a user issue and I learn everyday. I suggest liking Canon's Facebook page. The admin and personnel answer any question you have and provide wonderful tips and tricks. I will always use Canon, their products are great
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, easy to use
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

Perfect camera

Have owned camera since August. Have owned several other brandname cameras with various megapixels and zooms, but favorite had been a Canon SX120 for several years. Had finally decided to upgraded and researched this camera. Eventually purchased it and have not been disappointed. This camera takes really good photos in auto mode, but the more I was willing to experiment with other settings and functions the more I enjoyed this camera and the quality of the photos. This camera requires a little patience and willingness to experiment butis well worth the time and money.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Love this camera!

I purchased this camera a year ago to take on vacation. The camera is very easy to use and the pictures come out very clear. The zoom on this camera is amazing! I have taken pictures of wildlife from a distance that look like I am standing right next to them.
The thing I especially like about this camera is that you can either look through the view finder or use the LCD. I find it hard to see the LCD in bright sunlight with sunglasses on, so use the view finder for outdoor pictures. The LCD opens away from the camera base and tilts, so you can actually hold the camera over your head and tilt the LCD down so you can see what you are taking. Fantastic feature!
I highly recommend this camera to anyone interested in the ease of a point-and-shoot camera that also has some added features. I have taken amazing pictures with the macro lens and also unbelievable pictures of a hummingbird at my feeder with the continuous shooting feature!
Love this camera!
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Who knew a Canon could fit into a Coach?

I am dedicated Canon lover and fan! This camera is not only as handy as a point and shoot, but, works as good as a very expensive camera with replaceable lenses. I was on the balcony at my Daughter's Graduation and zoomed all the way in as close as front row. This was in a huge auditorium. Best of all, it is still smaller and compact. So compact, it fits in my Coach purse! Highly recommend!
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

This camera was my very first canon camera, and i absolutely love it. I think it was a great camera for me as a beginner photographer. My favorite part was the lens because how far I could zoom in. Its really nice because you don't have to change the lens every time you take a photo. I think this camera is great for beginner photographers. With a couple of lessens you can become a pro at this camera if your a beginner. It can be confusing at first if your not experienced with the settings. Overall I just love this camera.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings

took me a little time to catch on to operating this camera esp using all the spec settings...a little bulky, but i wanted to step up to a more advanced camera so I was willing to adjust..After a month or so I was having prob getting the zoom to operate properly but I attributed it to my lack of expertize and the size of the camera. the lever to zoom out and in was tricky for me to locate at times and i missed some pics...as time went on and as i became more familiar with the camera i realized there was a prob with the mechanism and ret the camera under warranty...when you spend that much on something always get the extended warranty. prob a fluke with that camera... but i can ret to the store and pick out another camera of equal or lesser value...WILL MOST LIKELY BUY ANOTHER CANON SX 40 because the pics i took were really great when it was functioning properly
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality
