GRATES ARE TOO HIGH, KEEPS POT HANDLES TOO HOT

Friends said gas range cooks faster than electric range, so we switched to gas range and chose this GE Profile Series. What a disappointment!! Not only does it cook so slow because of the grates being too high, it also keeps the pot handles too hot to handle with bare hands. I made a mistake of lifting the pot up without mittens and got so burned. I wish GE does something to correct this flawed appliance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

There's ample room for all my pots and pans at one time to work up a gourmet meal. The grates are sturdy and easy to clean.

Grates are too high

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The problem with this stove is that the grates are too tall, hence it takes longer to heat smaller pans and pots up than another stove. It takes 20 minutes to boil one cup of water when it used to take 6 minutes on our old GE profile cook top. We love the features and the appearance, but we wish the grates were a quarter to half an inch lower.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
