Size and layout great. Wife uses middle burner for canning and there is still room to cook.

10 years of reliability and still going strong

I've owned this cooktop for 10 years. It gets daily use and I've never had a single issue. This past year I had a small piece crack off of one of the knob posts. I've superglued it back together and it's held so far! Surprised to hear the issues others report with the knobs. I love the configuration of the 36" surface and especially the centre powerboil burner. The dial lettering is starting to fade due to years of cleaning and I have some slight wear on the burners (to be expected if you ever mistakenly slide your pots!). Other than that it still looks and works great! I only checked this site to see whether there is any way to renew the look of the burner grates a bit. I know this exact model is discontinued but I thought I'd add my positive experience with this GE product. For the record, I've never had any issues with the GE Profile built-in microwave and a double (1 and a half) wall oven of the same vintage either. 10 years, 3 appliances, zero service calls.

Bad knobs

We brought the house on 2013 and the stove was come with when we brought the house….no choice.
However, I had the same problem about the knobs broke easily. Since I am not a good Chinese cooker, I had been switched around until 4 knots were broken and finally the last knot can’t turn the stove on.
Then I got a small temporary induction kind to use…until now I have to fix, because my family are coming over for my husband’s funeral. I have to fix also because my sister is good at cooking and love to cook for us. I got the knobs but having trouble to open the top to figure out. Have to call tomorrow ask for help.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
