We installed this same cooktop in our home in Louisville before we sold our house there. It is a dream to cook on and clean up. I loved it so much I bought one just like it to go in our new house.

You will have broken knobs

Doesn't work well with propane?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks great and sounded like a good replacement for our 14 year old cooktop, but we are quite disappointed. Our main problem may be that this cooktop does not work as well with propane since it has a limited range of cooking temperature For example, even when using the power burner, it takes a long time to boil water for tea as compared to what we had before with propane on our previous cooktop. Also none of the burners on this cooktop are able to do a true simmer, like for rice, without having to use multiple diffuser plates. We had the GE certified technician out and adjusted the lowest BTU burner to its lowest possible range and still need two stacked diffusers. Giving GE benefit of the doubt, this temperature range problem may not exist with natural gas on this cooktop, which this cooktop may have been designed for. We are going to bite the bullet (i.e., losing money since this cooktop can't be returned) and will research and buy a cooktop (not GE) that is comes from the factory made specifically for propane.

Excellent stove top

great gas cooking

have had it 7 mo. Love the big center burner, the grates, the LED back lit burners, the lock (for safety when cleaning, kids) the griddle. Often have all 5 burners in action.
Can use very low without burning. Clean up is much easier than my old one. Happy camper here!

Takes very long to heat up

The distance between the gas hobs and grill is too much. It takes a long time to heat up the food. I would not recommend this product.

This is the best cooktop we've ever had

I read a lot of reviews of this product, and was initially wary -- were to grates too high for cooking? Was the layout bad? etc. All for naught. We went from a cracked, black-glass electric cooktop to this and couldn't be happier. The grates are NOT too far from your pans. My favorite is it cleans like a dream. A wipe with a damp cloth and you're done. It keeps its shine. Cooking is fast - especially with the powerboil setting. It can hold big pots. it browns things evenly. I like the childproof gas lock, too. I keep it on when I'm not cooking. Overall, this was a beautiful buy. The design is stellar. It cleans and cooks great.
I would recommend this to a friend!
