I have always had Epson printers and they have never disappointed me. This particular model is very easy to setup, took only 20 minutes. So far I've tried scanning, printing and faxing and everything worked flawlessly.

I bought my Artisan 837 because it was recommended as a terrific photo printer. The first attempt to print a photo was via my wireless connection from my pc. It is so far out of focus, you can't tell what it is. My second attempt was from a memory card. You can tell what/who it is but their hair looks like a large scab. Also rather grainy. Needless to say, I am disappointed. I had hoped to print greeting cards, but will not attempt it with this poor quality. It seems to be an okay color printer.

Not what I thought it would be

The claria ink in this printer is very unstable, one drop of water ruins it. The prints are not crisp and the paper feeder does not work well. Copies are not true color. My old epson printer was much better. Overall, a serious disappointment.

sort of disappointing

Trouble feeding paper from the start; frequent jams and crooked printing. Color matching is poor, with colors having a pale, washed-out quality-- in spite of requiring a larger number of cartridges. Paper tray holds very few pages. photos and text appear striped. I have been an epson customer since the days of dot matrix, and have never been so disappointed in a printer.

Was forced to look for a new home printer when my 2 yr old HP went down unexpectedly. After doing a litte research and checking out various retail establishments, the Epson Artisan 837 seemd the best deal, and at the same time offered everything I was looking for in a home printer.
I found the set up to be quite simple, even though other reviews were more critical about that aspect. I'm pleased with the picture quality and scanning features. Auto feed is also a good feature.
One of the features I really like is its sleek style and appearance for the home office. When closed up it looks more appealing for the home.
I've had it for two weeks now, and as I said, so far, so good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this printer after reading all the reviews, and after my HP quit again on me. It was easy to set up, and works fine. I have it on my wireless network along with my other laptops. This is my first Epson and I am very happy with it. It's a little big, but well laid out. Easy to operate with it's big screen.
This printer is awesome, its a touch screen, good quality of colors very easy to use and no complications. I'm glad I switch to a different brand this time. I will recommend this printer in one to all!
