Epson Artisan 837 All-in-One Printer Review

Print quality is excellent. Print speed is somewhat slow. Main difficulty: Despite many attempts to position paper properly, frequently feeds multiple sheets at one time, usually spaced slightly apart so that part of the print appears on the first page, part on the next, and so on.

Does everything we ask of it

We've owned the printer for about 10 months now and have had no problems with it. It prints at reasonable speeds. The copying and scanning functions have worked as expected. We really like the double-sided printing option. In fact, our EOBs from our health care provider have info on one side in portrait mode and on the other in landscape mode. When we ask the printer to print the file double-sided, it prints both sides correctly. I think that's pretty cool.

Best Ever "All in One" Printer/Scanner

Love my Epson Artisan 837 so much I bought a second one for my other office. What I like most is the Print Photo Copy/Restore feature. Absolutely astonishing the quality let alone place 4 photos on the glass and you get 4 separate restored photos. WOW. OH.. the DVD Disc Creator-CD/DVDCopy feature is so good you just have to have one of these machines. Scan to PDF is so simple it's the best.... What can I say more? FIND ONE-GET ONE

EPSON Artisan 837 All-in-One Printer
I have used EPSON printers exclusively for over 40 years, starting with the old dot matrix printer, and about a year ago purchased the Artisan 837. I never owned an EPSON printer that did not exceed my expectations. I have learned to depend on the manufacturing quality provided by EPSON that has never let me down with printer failure in all these years. Needless to say EPSON’s have served me well, evolved thru the years and the Artisan 837 is the best ever.
I am a retired Professional Photographer, Teacher and Lecturer. My print use is about 60% photographs, 30% business letters and 10% personal correspondence, the Artisan 837 handles each job exceptionally well, delivering a high quality print at a reasonable cost and at a good speed. As a Professional Photographer I use a Stylus Photo R3000 Epson photo printer for prints over 10 inches wide and use the EPSON Perfection 3170 scanner for critical photographic use. The scanner in the Artisan 837 is getting more and more general use because of its easy accessibility. I purchased the Artisan for the printer, the scanner was a plus for me.
I am a strong EPSON supporter and have been for years. I always keep a large supply of fresh print cartridges on hand (this represents many $$$). If I could change one thing with EPSON, I would like to see more new printers using print cartridges that are interchangeable with the older comparable models. Or a program to exchange the older cartridge toward the purchase of a supply of the newer cartridge.

Epson Artisan 837

I have used this printer for 3 years now & it's been wonderful. It prints beautiful photos which is what I mainly purchased it for, but find over 50% of the time it is a work horse for scanning files into PDF formats to send to clients along with regular document printing. Another great feature has been the ease of photo copying things in the touch of a button. I couldn't live without it in my home office!

I purchased my Artisan 837 in 2013. It prints photos beautifully. They have excellent color and clarity. Documents scanned or written on my computer are very good.
I have one complaint. Getting the paper loaded just right is sometimes frustrating. I'll think it is loaded "just right" but find when I start printing, the printer doesn't think it is "just right." The paper cannot have a hint of a wrinkle anywhere. When I get it right, the product is printed and centered.
I have had a problem recently with quality printing of some photos. Hopefully, the updated driver I just downloaded will help that issue.
The print quality on white DVDs is very, very good.
