Frustrated

I've been a loyal Epson user and initially, loved the Epson Artisan 837. Now, I'm just frustrated. Over the last six months, I've had an issue with ink cartridges displaying that they are not the correct cartridge - when they are. The ink bleeds all over the paper. I've looked for support and help to no avail. I'd just like to be able to print!

Best All-in-One Printer for the price

This All-in-One Printer was so easy to set up that
it took hardly any effort on my part. It prints beautiful 4x6 photos and fast. I set up the WiFi in about 3 minuets to use with my wireless router. I setup the fax portion which took about 2 minuets and sent a fax within a minuet after that. This printer also has a really nice large touch screen that is easy to use. The printer looks really nice on the outside too. when the light hits it there is a really nice blue hue on the edges and on some of the surfaces. The top has a carbon fiber look to it. I recommend this printer for anyone that needs to print, fax, copy or scan anything. Oh and print beautiful pictures that will last forever.

I had some trouble setting this printer up since my Apple has been updated to the new Lion system,
but Epson's helpful technicians solved my problems.
The prints are swift, the colors are excellent. This printer is definitely a good value for the money.

GREAT SO FAR--GREAT FOR MAC USERS!!

Setup for Lion Server was a breeze. REMEMBER TO DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS BEFORE YOU PLUG IT IN, just like the instructions say.
Easy to set up, and print. So far everything is going great, scanned images into the Mac without a hitch and wireless printing from my iPad "Just Worked" to quote the now departed Steve Jobs.
Would recommend to any MAC user.

Neat printer but could be better

I just bought the 837 to replace an Artisan 800 that quit feeding documents into the scanner. I figured a new printer would be a better buy than fixing the 800.
The 837 is similar in construction to the 800. The paper tray could be heavier and it would be nice if the photo tray would double as an envelope tray. The output is quite good for both color and black & white.
If you need to print a lot of envelopes this is not your printer. If you want a good multi function box this is a good buy.
I did have trouble getting the scanner to work but that was a conflict with the old 800 software. Epson support walked me through that and life is good :-D

I love my new Epson Artsian 837 All in one printer. The price is very reasonable. The photos come out beautiful without any flaws. It's easy to set up. Access to the paper and photo paper is so easy. The only disadvantage I have is that it goes through the ink fast. But other than that the product is awesome.

Only a few hours old and.......

Old - other brand printer getting very old and dumping ink and a newer different brand not picking up the paper anymore from bottom tray, making noises on phone line , etc... So... I waited for this 837 to come on a sale and SIMPLY AMAZED at what it does and how well! The 837 simply outprints in QUALITY and SPEED over a professional large format printer I've been using for the last few years. The 837's 4" x 6" prints are exceptional. Nicely prints my double-sided business cards on clean-edge stock... Did not know it has an email and email photo print feature. Did not know there was such a thing... I travel and usually take my laptop computer in the field with me. Now, I can send home emails and photos to my loved ones at home, directly to my 837. They don't need a computer to receive them! This is the first time with a printer, that was so easy to set up, including the wireless fetures, that I have not had to call SUPPORT. The SCAN is nice and so very detailed. I'll be trying out the FAX features and CD label printing, soon.

great machine

I had to exchange the first 837 I got due to some unusual error that prevented it from initializing. The new one was fine and I love the features. The unit is a little too deep for my computer desk but I will move it to another room to solve that issue. The clear bright menu allows a number of functions to be performed. The reason we bought it was for the color prints that my wife's business requires. I like the ink that dries quickly and is very permanent. I really love the CD tray for printing CD labels. I have not had a chance to try it yet, but the cost of labels is very high, so the idea is brilliant and can save a lot of money over time. The weight of the unit tells me that the guts are substantial and not a piece of light plastic junk you get in lower end printers. Epson has a great machine here and I hope to get a great deal of use out of it. I also got a great deal on it by saving $100 off of the list price.
