Out of the box and fully operational in just over an hour. Easy setup. Photos look very good. Standard printing also quite good. Have had this unit just over 3 days, so this is a very preliminary
evaluation. Didn't rate the unit 5 star, only because it is much to soon to make that evaluation. As for recommending to a friend, would qualify that due to the short time I have had the unit.

Need More Ink

My first review was rejected because I complained, so I will try again.
I just setup a new 837 yesterday. Everything went just fine and I even downloaded Airprint from the Epson and it works great.
As normal with Epson is the print quality. It is great. Photos are great and text is sharp.
My only complaint is after setting up the printer, I got a message stating that I need to replace the cartridges and I never printed anything but the test page to confiry the wireless setup.
I just don't feel that is fair. There should be enough ink left to print a few photos before you run out.
Still like the printer and I hope it lasts as long as my other (4) Epson printers I own and use almost every day.

Good printer but not without issues

The set up was very easy for both Mac and PC. The problem that does not seem to go away is the lines across the picture sometime more visible than others. It seems to come in the first print and then the following ones are fine. I have done the alignment procedure which made it better somewhat but still comes in first print. I have to admit, the instructions for the alignment is not that clear. I finally figured out that it is asking for the ID number of the best square of each pattern.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to install both wi-fi or cable. Control panel is very user friendly. Printing quality is very good.

error message won't print with Mac

Error: pstopdffilter/pstocupsraster failed
Cannot get it to print pdf. files even after reinstalling software. it was printing fine and then just quit with pdfs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent

One of the very few that print on CD's & DVD's and print on them excellent. I have had other printers that had problems printing correctly on CD's but even my older Epson still prints great. I also like that Epson uses your existing picture files without making new uncontrollable files. I rate Epson #1.

Good all around workhorse

Printer does what it is suppose to do, print. Everything seems to be totally functional. Paper loading is a bit awkward but tolerable.
I particularly like the small footprint because I have a small home office.
