I will return this one to the store as it is very noisy and the placement of the paper tray is very inconvenient compared to other printers I have had. Also, it was not able to pull up a glossy copy sheet when I placed it on top of the other papers in the tray, I had to remove all the other papers to make it work. Stupid machine!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This unit DOES what it says.... and it does it well. If your network is complex (wired, wireless, powerline...XP, Vista, 7...) This unit responds, and well.
It may have a few setup quirks.... but you WILL be pleased with the way this unit finds a place in your network.
Its output is of strong quality and speed is refreshingly quick.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A dream to use.....

I'm retired with an extensive record collection. I enjoy converting many of my LP's to digital and do a great deal of creating labels on printable CD's. My Artisan 837 does this quickly and flawlessly. All aspects of it's features perform as designed however I have not utilized the fax feature. I have every bit of confidence the fax feature will be right up there with the rest of this machine. Bravo Epson. I'm a happy camper.

I purchased my first printer, and had problems with the printer recognizing the cyan ink cartridge. I then exchanged it for another printer of the same model, and I can't even get it to print at all, I am still working on fixing this issue. My son has the artison 830 and it works great, but he took it to college with him, so I needed another one to replace it. I don't think I would recommend this model unless something changes to make is easier to start up.

Love this printer!

I needed a replacement printer in a hurry, wanted another Epson and I purchased this with some reservation. My first print job (double-sided postcards with mail merge addresses) normally took about 6 to 7 hours, had it done in 45 minutes..The next test was printing graphics, again less than 1 minute for what took 4 minutes on my old printer... Time is a valuable commodity. I love this printer...now to explore some more of its features......

Good and Bad

I really like my Epson 837 EXCEPT for one function. I make a lot of greeting cards and for each one I print (double sided) you have to push in the tray (paper catcher) and pull out the paper tray. Sure wish there was a different way to do this but all in all it is good.

good quality printer

It is a good quality printer. Photo quality is generally excellent. I have had some problems with lines in photos, even though the nozzle check was fine. It seemed to improve when I checked fix photo. Perhaps a fresh yellow ink cartridge helped. Copies are excellent and the document feeder works well. I love the ability to print both sides of paper without having to turn the paper over and re-insert it. I have had some trouble with the paper tray. It frequently feeds more than one piece of paper at a time. Also, it frequently does not load photo paper, so the printer thinks it is jammed or empty, and I have to re-insert the paper. On other reviews, there was some concern about unreasonably fast ink usage. After the first use when the printer is charged for the first time, the ink usage does not seem to be more than other printers.

I LOVE THE ARTISAN ALL IN ONE PRINTERS BY EPOSON

I NEVER TAKE TIME TO REVIEW MY PURCHASES BUT I THINK THAT THE ARTISAN PRINTERS BY EPSON IS WORTH MY TIME AND HOPEFULLY I CAN HELP SOMEONE SAVE SOME TIME SHOPPING. I WANT TO MENTION THAT I AM NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE WHEN IT COMES TO TECHNOLOGY AND COMPUTERS SO WHEN I SHOP I LOOK FOR THE EASIEST TO INSTALL AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND PRODUCE GREAT QUALITY. SINCE I LIKE TO TAKE AND PRINT MY OWN PHOTOS I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THE EPSON ARTISAN ALL IN ONE PRINTERS HAVE WORKED THE BEST FOR ME AND BELEIVE ME I HAVE SPENT QUITE A BIT OF MONEY THROUGH TRIAL AND ERROR BUYING ALL KINDS BUT JUST WASNT SATISFIED WITH THE QUALITY OF PICTURE PRINTED THE COLORS WERE NOT VIVID AND BRIGHT OR THE CLARITY WASNT CLEAR TO ME OR IT SEEMED TOO COMPLICATED TO GET WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR . THEN I GUESS AROUND 2005 OR 2006 A SALESPERSON RECOMMENDED THE ARTISAN 800 SO I BOUGHT IT. I LOVED HOW EASY IT WAS TO SET UP AND OPERATE AND THE QUALITY WAS AWSOME SO I BECAME THE FAMILY PHOTO MART (LOL) I WORE THAT PRINTER OUT AND WENT THE BEGGINING OF 20012 AND BOUGHT ARTISAN 837 AND I HAVE TO SAY ITS EVEN BETTER I JUST LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
