Glad to have it

At first I was quite frustrated in getting the machine set up. Since then it operates like a dream with one occasional exception - it will grab more than one sheet of paper when printing. It's smaller relation the 730 does the same thing, only nearly every time.
This one has some lovely features I never expected to have, e.g. printing directly to a disk.

Nice Prints - Not so much on durability

This is my 3rd printer from this series of printers and they all have died within 2 years. One reason or another they just don't last. The ONLY reason I bought this one is that I need a printer that prints directly to CD/DVD's and Epson is the only company that I can find that currently makes a printer to do this.

Epson Artisan 837 All-in-One Printer Does It All

Wow! What a find! This all-in-one is the best I've ever owned. Previously I've had Lexmark and HP, both fell short of my expectations, especially in regard to scanning and printing photos. I take alot of photos of my grandsons' Little League baseball and need a professional scan/photo capability to get photos to the family. This is it! Thanks Epson for a great product at a reasonable cost!

Not happy with printing quality

This printer was recommended to me as having high acutance and quality which I want as I do a lot of genealogy and photo/document printing. From the very first document and photo, I have lines in or across everything.
Although the printer is new, I went through all steps suggested with no change.

THE BEST I've ever owned

I've owned other [brands] of Printers, FAX machines & Word Processors, but NONE can even come close to the quality of this beauty. The copy printing & the Photo Prints are THE SHARPEST I've ever seen. Photos are better quality & higher def. than Photo Labs! I can sum up this all-in-one with a single word: SWEET!!!
I'll never own any other brand. Thank You EPSON!!

A Great Printer

I used my Artisan 800 for three years. When it finally gave up (the printer pads needed to be serviced for a price more than the cost of a printer), I bought an Epson 837 which has all the excellent features I need: OCR scanning (compatible with a third party), scanning, faxing, printing, photo printing, and CD/DVD printing. The printing quality is excellent, especially when using Epson papers. The paper tray looks as fragile as the one on my 800, and after about 2 years the connecting hooks broke. I was still able to use the tray by sliding it in a little farther, so it created no problems. All in all, I'm very happy to have bought a replacement for my 800. The techical support is good, too, if you need them to help you at any time. They have helped me with issues even after warranty expiration.

Epson Artisan 837

After my Artisan 800's sheet feeder broke, I opted for the 837. It does significantly less grinding and groaning that the 800 did. It does not seem to be drinking the ink like a drunken sailor either. When the print command is issued it starts printing rather than grunting and grinding for 5 minutes like the 800.
My only con so far is it is reluctant to feed just one sheet of paper at a time. It likes to grab 2 or 3 sheets at a time.
