Great Printer - drinks the ink

I love this printer, the ease of use, quality of print are by far top of line. We are an all Apple house and it works with all of our devices, iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone all work perfectly with this multifunction printer. I love scanning using the iPad app! I just wish this printer could have the same quality and features as it currently does, but use about half as much ink. It seems to drink the ink pretty fast.

Epson Delivers Again

The Epson 837 installation was accomplished easily. Text printing is crisp. Photos are excellent. Printing from my MacBook Pro or my iPhone is easily done. Scanning is a little difficult on my Mac running Snow Leopard but the output is very good. I have not used the Fax feature. All things considered, this is an excellent unit and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Expecting more.

It prints beautiful pictures on Epson photo paper only. I tried printing on premium quality kodak photo paper and and another brand of photo paper, the pictures came out grainy and mosaic looking in some spots. Also, text print does not come out dark enough even after settings have been changed to print text.

Epson Artisan 837

I previously had an Epson 810 all-in-one printer. I liked the features of the 810: wireless, printer, scanner, copier and fax as well as having duplex capabilities. There was one thing missing however. The 810 didn't have AirPrint capability.
The 810 began having printing problems in color. I was getting an error message concerning ink pads, so I decided to get a new all-in-one thus the 837 with AirPrint. The print quality, speed and flexibility are excellent. I really like having AirPrint for my IPad.

About 20% of the reviews I read prior to purchasing the printer complained about the printer grabbing several sheets of paper at one time. I regret that I didn't take heed. I haven't set up the fax or scan operation yet.

Artisan 837 gets the job done

I write this review 1 yr after purchase and still loving it. I just had to do a two hour crunch with getting a new computer onto my home network, loading the print drivers and setting up printing wireless plus fax. All went seamless without me ever needing to leave the Epson wizard and I got a full 40 page document printed and sent to FedEx and also faxed thru the Artisan 837 all within the two hours with time to spare. I also cannot find a better printer for photos especially with high quality epson photo paper. They come out as professional as I could hope. Finally an All in 1 that covers the "All". Although the colors are great, don't overdue it. I set all my basic printing to B&W as the Black toner is cheaper than the color sets. My only dislike is that I cannot continue to print in B&W when one of my color toners runs dry. I must replace the color first and that hurts in a time crunch. It should be built that B&W will continue to function without a color toner.
