Beautiful Printer

The Epson Artisan 837 was a gift from my daughter and haven't had it long enough to try out all its features. I do like the fact that it has a different color cartridge for each and every color and not one cartridge for all colors. If you are looking for a fast printer the Artisan 837 is the printer for you and it works great with windows computers. Sorry to say my daughter had problems of it working with her Apple computer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This printer has it all with a design that the best on the market. Fax, built in CD printer tray, scanner with the best software, double sided printing, sheet feeder. wifi and internet print capabilities, memory card direct printing and a touch screen control panel. I upgraded from the Epson 810 which I had for over 4 years and printed hundreds of DVD labels along with daily 8 x 11.5 documents. Simply the best printer by far.

I have had this printer for nearly 2 years and have had no problems with it so far. It does everything - print, copy , scan and fax. It produces very good photos. The only con I have is the ink colors are in separate cartridges and when one cartridge runs out of ink it will cease printing until it is replaced. I just keep a supply of cartridges on hand.

Color Photos

The printer worked fine for over a year and then my color photos had a green tint to them and all of the other colors were off as well. I received a lot of updates from Epson and consulted with others. What finally worked to correct the problem for a while was to clean print heads several times before it was corrected. It used a lot of ink to do this and only lasted for a few prints before the problem occurred again and again using up a lot of ink.

Wish they made Hard Drives too

I have used every option on this printer at least once and disk printing and copy machine options almost daily for the past couple years. it has been flawless, the WiFi is fantastic, I have my router in the basement and the printer on the second floor and it never stumbled or lost anything.
I can't recommend it enough. a true silent warrior at a great price!!

Blue ink everywhere

The first year or so the printer did beautiful work. Shortly after, the cyan cartridge began dropping big splotches of blue ink everywhere when it's about 2/3 full. Cleaning the nozzles and print heads does nothing. The printer does NOT print black-and-white photos without the orange-ish tint on some of the black areas, wasting expensive photo paper. Some of the "business" paper that I get from Epson doesn't even fit well in the 8 1/2 x 11 tray. It barely gets in and then often causes the paper to jam or not roll up to print. When new the printer did beautiful photos; however, in the past year or so, the photos are terrible. Cleaning the heads and nozzles has no effect, either. Terribly disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
