Epson Artisan 837 All-in-one Printer

Greatest printer we have ever owner. My husband and I share it from different parts of the house via WiFi. Works perfectly as well as by touch screen on the All-in-one. Prints and photo prints are clear and rapid. It does everything, and does it all well.

When a print job is sent to it, it makes a lot of noise and has a lag. When it does finally print, it is quite fast. The paper tray is small which requires constant refilling. and it is used in a home environment. Definitely should not be used in a business environment where there is a lot of printing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this printer with all the features available. I am especially thrilled that I can make labels for CDs and DVDs as I video tape bands and make DVDs for the band members and can put all my photos on CDs with labels. I also like the idea of having a fax machine in my home so I don't have to run out to some place to send a fax. I can print one of my photos if I want. It has many other features that I haven't used yet.

My RV is my office, I have limited space and must provide clients with a professional report. The Epson Artisan 837 exceeded my expectations. Reports and presentations provided to clients are at the highest level. It enhances my ability to provide professional results to my most critical clients quickly. I highly recommend the Artisan 837 to anyone who demands excellence in their image to clients.

I'm very happy with the print quality of the photos. Scanner functions well. I do not use the fax feature on the unit. If you know how to control your ink usage, cartridges last for quite a while. I would purchase this product again.

Artisan 837 is great...too bad it's discontinued.

I've owned Artisan 800 and 810 models. Installation instructions for the 837 had some problems. They suggested using a 'USB cable' to make installation on the first computer easier. This is very true but they didn't say you'd need a 'USB printer cable', not an ordinary USB cable with the same connector on both ends.
And the reason this makes it easier is because of the incredibly bad implentation of the printer screen method of entering the SSID and password. It's like an old phone pad with a number and 3 letters. You have to cycle through the number, capital versions of the 3 letters and then lower case versions of the 3 letters. The real killer occurs if you need two consecutive characters from the same group. Then, after getting the first character, you have to use the space bar icon followed by a backspace. How absurd is that! Epson, you can do much, MUCH better!
