I had two other brands of printers because they had seperate ink tanks, but the older Epson I have outlasted them. It still works after a lot of use but has a combination color ink tank. I was looking for a printer with seperate color ink tanks and found the 837 at a good price. I also wanted two sided automatic printing. The workforce might have been a good choice also. The auto copy function works well which my wife uses a lot. This is a fast printer and the only changes I would like are: a paper tray to hold more paper and without the photo paper holder. When printing one page for the printer to know it and just eject the page without turning it over. Wireless is good and I don't print a lot of photos. Warm-up is fast so you do not waste time waiting for the printer. The older printer has a paper tray plus paper could be loaded in the rear which offered a selection of two sizes or colors loaded which was handy. The receiving tray could be lower and sturdier. I'm glad I bought the 837.

We are trying this printer out. It was used a little and got a paper jam and the user got frustrated. He gave it to a friend and then we got it. It is wireless so my wife and I can both use it. It is quick and has all kinds of settings for the kind of paper. You can choose dark ink or light. It copies quickly. It prints photos well and you can use it as a fax. We are quite happy with it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Purchased printer about 8 months ago. After a few days of use I noticed the print on the paper didn’t line up correctly it would come out crocked on the left margin. I contacted Epson & the Tech tried to help me fix it but couldn’t. A new one was sent quickly and no trouble since. Reason I wouldn’t recommend this printer, they don’t make the 837 any more otherwise I would.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This all in one printer works well. I have had a few
problems. It does not print business cards well,
the card stock does not get pulled thru. The fax
auto feed has problems very noisy and some jams, but easy to unjam. It is worth the money.

I've been very happy with the printer. I haven't printed photos yet, but the printing, fax and copy work very well. Unfortunately, as with all inkjet printers, the ink will smear if it gets even a little wet.

We've had 3 Epson Artisan 837s that have had issues that required replacing, fortunately under warranty or a protection plan. Duplexer stopped working and issues with printouts and copies spitting out extra sheets, often printing on edge of extra sheets that waste paper as well as ink when reprinting required. Excellent photo printing on certain papers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this machine because (a) our old printer was dying, and (b) I needed a smaller footprint. This machine replaced 3 machines. I picked the Artisan because it does well with small photos, leaving my 2880 for the big stuff, and it was on sale. I like the fact that it prints 2 sides without my manually turning stuff over and running it through again, that it has an autofeed for a multi-page original, etc. It's done a good job for my smaller, lower use situation.

I love the printer. It prints great pictures and copies well. I have used the CD printer a lot and it does a really good job. Only problem is I cannot copy from the top loader any more. When I try it tells me to copy it from the glass. When it worked it was great to be able to copy several copies without having to put each one on glass. All in all it is a great printer and I would recommend it.
