Overall, a good printer, BUT....

I enjoy the overall performance of this printer. However, its interaction with my I-Mac has been spotty. Recent problems have been with its ability to work as a WiFi printer. I am back to the cord again. I wanted to download the software again using the Epson CD software. It will only recognize the software as a FAX and proceeds to set it up that way.

Kickin Machine

I have had a number of printers and all-in-one machines over the course of my computing career as well as have used a number at work. The 837 is by far the best. Machines from another big company don't even come close. One day my boss will learn. I do an absolute ton of scanning and have had zero glitches with this machine. I us it for personal & business use. My 13 year old daughter love how her photos print with the 6 color cartridges. Does everything I need and more! Highly recommend!!!

Hard to figure out why I got this 2nd request from Epson for a review, since this model is no longer in production, and I wrote a full review a few months ago. I don't use the Fax so I cannot comment on that capability. This is my 4th Epson printer, as well as getting 2 others for family members. - Same comments as before, after several hundred photos & printed pages have gone through the machine. - Results are great ! Epson's description of this model is all true. Color prints in photo or best photo mode, look as good as any commercial service can provide. Documents are clear and easily formatted. Selecting all options, like print/paper size, is a breeze with a very sensible menu and interface on the printer's touchscreen, or from the computer menu. - My only negative regards the clumsy & flimsy plastic paper feed drawer. Every time I need to add , or replace paper, I feel like it's going to break. My old RX-580 gets a 5 for everything. The 837 gets a 4 because of that one weak point.

I like the printer for many reasons. It operates well and is not to noisey. The scan works very well and print orders run smoothly. I really like the double back printing, it saves a lot of paper. I like the 6 ink wells. The thing I do not like is that the ink can not be refilled, have to purchase new ones. I have not figured out how to get the fax working.

If you're looking for good 4 x 6 photo prints, this printer is for you. Try printing 8 1/2 x 11 photos, color or black and white forget it! I'm on my third replacement 837 printer and quite frankly have given up.

Artisan 837

I absolutely love my Epson Artisan 837. Scanning is quick, cartridge changing is easier, it turns off with a touch of a button (one step) and the CD/DVD printing option is wonderful. I incorporate clip art or scanned images along with text with multiple font options right on printible disk. I personally have (3) Epson printers at home a 810 and a 830, and they too are great all in ones, but the 837 is awesome.
I am responsible for the computers and printers on my job and I have at least (6) Epsons in use, of course one is an 837 and I have been purchasing Epson printers since the 360's hit the shelves. There is only (1) feature that can be frustrating. When one cartridge is completely empty, your printer will shut down. It is wise to have replacement cartridges on hand at all times. It is also wise to use only Epson replacement cartridges. Stay away from those refillable options.

It is easy to use and cost-effective. I bought the printer more than a year ago, so far so good. Be careful with ink.

1. The printer and scanner work very well. 2. ADF has not jammed or eaten anything, and the quality is as expected. 3. Epson service was outstanding - sent a replacement in a timely fashion. 4. Epson app for Android says need to update the printer firmware, but the printer says it has the latest firmware. Those two need to talk!
