Disappointing

I bought this for my wife a year ago and I've heard nothing but complaints. I use it occasionally from my office and I don't think it has ever worked the first time for me. So it's multiple trips across the house to get a print. When it does print the quality is good. Often there are paper jams and head cleaning to be done first. It has a cheap feel to it that I noticed when I first pulled it out of the box.
I've had lots of Epson printers over the years so just grabbing one that met her needs for a good price seemed like a no brainer. I will use my brain next time and do some research. No more assuming Epson means a quality product.

We use this pringer for DVD's, cards, photographs, and all the other print jobs everyone uses. No matter how hard we work it, there's never any problems.

I purchased two of these and both broke shortly after the warranty ran out. Will cost more to fix them than they're worth.

Artisan 730 - Quality, Economical Printer/Scanner

I shifted to Epson Products after having what I thought were good printers, but couldn't afford their ink anymore! This is my 2nd Epson Printer, but as is normal, that 1st printer eventually grew tired, so I bought the Artisan 730. I've had it now for several months, and have found it to have many features I would have expected only from a much higher-priced unit. I enjoy the quality of the copied product directly from the Flat-bed Scanner which is far superior to other brands. The compact construction of this Printer is a plus, since my residence is modest in size and elbowroom is at a premium. I am definitely pleased with the paper bin, which is easily accessible, drawing from the lower section of the printer without having to disturb any paperwork being scanned, etc., in the Flatbed. A SUPER plus is the fact that this printer will print both sides of documents without requiring removal and inverting of pages, by simply turning each page over INSIDE the unit, and printing the other side. There is one thing which I think could have been better designed, that being the finished-work shelf. It's a very delicate-seeming piece of sliding plastic in 3 sections which apparently could be broken off with a simple accidental contact. I have a curious 3-yo son here, and I'm concerned about his becoming better educated about the shelf. I DO like the use of more than the basic 4 colors, which extends ink life by blending only when necessary, thus using colors which are closer to the original document's, instead of diluting from a basic-four source. Overall quality - good! Satisfaction level - good! I would definitely recommend this printer to anyone seeking a new unit.

I've had the 730 for about a year now and so far no problems. The internal CD/DVD tray is really good compared to the old trays that we used to have to use (the ones that wore out and wouldn't feed after awhile).
The scanner works well, and it prints very well on printable CD's and DVD's, and the basic letter printing is fast and of good quality.
I would still pay a premium for a similar printer with external ink tanks (CIS System) and used ink drain instead of internal sponge storage that could do high volume printing for years without requiring ink pad replacement.

My Epson Artisan 730 is easy to use and produces great photos. It does an excellent job with spreadsheets and general correspondence work but I do miss the ability to use legal size paper. I recommend this product to do average personal work.

The Artisan 730 is a noisy cuss. Even when sitting for some time, it needs to adjust itself, as if it were a senior citizen needing to move around when sitting too long. It prints satisfactorily, and is comfortable printing from both Linux, as well as Windows.. The Wi-Fi works well enough, although the remote configuration was unavailable to my primary computer, Ubuntu. Epson I guess figures that Just configuring it for Windows was enough.
