Amazing Printer!

I have had quite a few printers in my life. The Epson Artisan 730 is by far, the best. I got it a couple weeks ago, but wanted to put it to use before reviewing it. One of the nicest benefits is how quiet it is. When scanning, one doesn't even know its running. Printing is almost as quiet. The pics I have printed look professional. The wireless setup was effortless for my MacBook, PC and PC laptop. Since I generally check email while watching T.V., its nice to be able to print without having to move to the PC.

THANK YOU THANK YOU EPSON!

My expensive disc painter broke, and cannot be fixed apparently. Then I found the EPSON Artisan 730. It seems nobody else makes an affordable printer that can print onto CD faces. THANK YOU EPSON! Yes, the ink is pricey, but for what I need, I'm so very grateful. I've only printed about 20 or 30 CDs/DVDs, but all have come out beautifully. It was easy to figure out. The software with it is quite good There is no way I could have afforded any of those other machines out there. KEEP THIS ONE IN PRODUCTION, PLEASE! I print about 500 CDs/DVDs per year, so this one is more affordable for people like me.

I am a long time Epson fan and was extremely disappointed with this printer - the first one I purchased the paper feed broke and I returned and got another one, which did not break - however, the paper feed was awful. The paper feed, wouldn't take normal stock that I have used for years, an avery post card, not particularly heavy duty. Epson photo paper it double fed, it double fed plain paper. I returned it as it was too frustrating to work with. The color also was a bit disappointing but mostly the paper feed system is cheaply constructed and does not work as it should.

versatile quality printer. fast, good color quality. however, instructions for installation, particularly regarding connection to computer, are very poor. we found these instructions scant, unclear and very poorly writtten. I was able to power the unit up and load the paper trays and the ink. however, i could not for the life of me figure out how to get it to connect to the computer becasue the provided directions on this issue were worthless. we ended up paying someone to do it.

The Artisan 730 printer arrived quickly and was well packaged. It unpacked and installed easily as a wireless printer. The printer management software installed quickly on my desktop computer and the printer firmware updated smoothly. Best of all, the AirPrint feature works seamlessly with the iPad and iPhone.

the artisan 730 itself is very nice, does a good job. however, the set-up was ridiculously difficult and compmlicated. after 1 1/2 days struggling with it i called Epson for help. the people who worked with me were perfect-knew just what to do--but even working with someone from support, the process was still very complicated and time consuming. neeed better instructions/directions for set-up and a simplified method to get things going. that is my reason for only 3 stars--trying to average things out--i could give 5 stars for usefulness, and 0 stars because of the set-up. i would recommend to a friend but with heavy warning re: set-up, and suggest they call epson immediately and not even attempt to set-up without the support directives

I never knew a printer could do so much. It scans and prints a copy exactly like the original, so good you can't tell the difference between the original and copy. The ease of 2 sided printing is great and the photos it prints are remarkable! I have only one fear and that is printing on card stock which is 110 pound index stock. I could not find anywhere in the information included with the printer that it would take this paper. I have kept my old Epson Stylus Photo RX500 and will continue to use that for printing on the card stock. But otherwise, it's the greatest.
