I purchased this Epson 730 printer after reading all the great reviews. The setup and installation went without a hitch, however I have since found a few glitches in this product. I used the printer to print about 5 pages of text and everything was fine. The next time I tried to use the printer I received an error message saying to check ink levels. It would not print, even if only one cartrigde was low on ink. I pulled out the two blue cartridges and plugged them back in, and then the printer worked again. I also noticed double feeding of paper on several occasions, even after fanning the paper before putting it in the tray. Another thing is that the card reader shows a red x going through the drive letter of the onboard reader. Yes, I have installed a USB cable for the scanner and card reader. I am connected wirelessly and the wireless printing works very well, even on Apple Products after install of their propriatory software on my IPad2. The print quality is excellent on glossy photo paper and very good with text on plain paper. I have not used this printer extensively, so I do not know how it will hold up over time, but I am not pleased with the problems I have had so far. I use my own built-in card reader on my computer, so the onboard reader I do not use, however it should work as it is supposed to. This printer is a good value for the money...yes there are cheaper printers out there, but you get what you pay for.

Great Photo Printer

This was purchased to replace an aging three color inkjet printer. The old print quality seemed good but there were certain colors that, regardless of my adjustments in Photoshop, I could simply not reproduce. The 730 is a very different story. So far I have only used the 4x6 prints because they are very fast, easy, and the tonal range is better that what I see on my (correctly adjusted) monitor. Very smooth and no apparent inkjet texture. The driver is very functional, with many fine tuning options. The scanning is also very good with an excellent driver interface. The general text printing is very good with double sided printing as well. Not laser quality but still quite good and very readable. I've used roughly 40 sheets of the premium 4x6 photo paper and maybe the same of regular bond and I'm about half way through the original cartridges. The paper tray & print platform are a bit light weight but I have had no problems or issues after slightly over a month of use. I'm very pleased so far and I will definitely recommend this printer.

Sparse Documentation.

Everything seems to work and what it produces is good But the instructions, both in the included pamphlet and on line are only a little over half there. I have had to use support twice over issues that should have been covered in the documentation.

Epson Artisan 730 24hr Review

Just set it up yesterday. Fairly straight ahead setup. Used supplied CD for drivers but chose to update from web when prompted. Have scanned a few items and does very well. Printed a few pages and they seem fine. I haven't pushed it to its limits yet. CD design software seems a bit outdated. It's very, very basic. I was expecting a little more creativity freedom. The worst thing I have noticed that the paper try is very cheaply made. I was warned in previous reviews but it really will take some TLC to keep it from breaking. This is the item that takes some abuse from loading and reloading paper. Why not make it more substantial? For the average user I think this unit is fine. Set up was easy. Make sure you measure the table you are going to place this upon. With the attachment in the back, the printer takes up a deep footprint. Check back with me in a month to see how much ink it eats.

After checking almost every brand of photo and all in one printers on the market. I found that epson not only has the best product, they also have the best price. I purchased mine thru Epson.com, the service was great and shipping was fast. The printer is even better than all the claims made by Epson. This is by far the best all in one printer or photo printer I have ever owned. Photography has been my hobby for over thirty years, so I have owned a lot of Photo printer, at the price level this is the best on the market at this time!

Nice features, smaller size, printer doors open auto, extra paper tray for photos & can be completely shut to keep dust off inside of printer. This is my 3 epson. I do scrapbooking and photo printing. I've never had a print fade but always use espon ink. Longevity of photo prints is the main reason I keep buying espson along with price and ease of use.

We had a printer that decided to stop working so I decided to check out reviews on Epson Printers. We already found out how great the quality of Epson movie projectors is. After reading the reviews I went out immediately to purchase The Artisan 730 All-in-One printer. I ended up buying extra ink so I would have it when needed. We have Lion on our Mac & the instructions warn right away not to load the CD that comes with the printer, to instead go to Epson website listed. It pays to read the instructions! I always do, it proves to invalueable and saves frustration. It made Downloading a breeze. I've already started printing & couldn't be more pleased. Excellent printer, proving once again if you want a good product get an Epson. Read the reviews & make a wise decision by getting an Epson.
