Fast text printing, however.

I bought this printer after my Photocolor 1270 finally died after about 10 years of faithful service. I was going to switch brands, but decided on the 730 for no other reason then price. One web site sells it for half of list. My main goal was to get a printer that would print directly on cds. This particular model has a clunky metal tray that pops out when you hit the cd button.
After reading many reviews, I would say this. Those that spoke of this being a very large printer is simply not true. Yes it does have extended apparatus on the back to facilitate paper movement, but overall it's no larger then my home theater amplifier. Printing and scanning speeds are very fast. Ink usage doesn't seem to be too bad though I haven't printed a lot with it yet. Unless I missed it, there does not seem to be a way to scan and print at the same time without first saving that scan to your hard drive then hitting the print button. The three section pull out paper receiver tray feels extremely cheap and flimsy. So much so that you really have to take care when moving it for fear of it breaking. Still, if you can find this printer for the price I paid for it you should buy it if you mainly want a fast printer for text. If you want a printer for color printing I would search something else. So far the color reproduction of this printer is simpy horrible. Every 4x6 print i've done so far is washed out, muddy, or the color doesn't match the original at all. I've played with all the settings with no real improvement. It is possible that it will just take more practice.

Excellent Printing from anywhere!

I love being able to print from my phone, especially pictures that I never seem to get transferred to the computer. I also like being able to send stuff I need printed via e mail. Everything was easy to set-up, including the wireless networking. Epson always does a good job with their printer drivers and installation process. I've never had an installation go bad because of "bad" drivers. As usual, photo printing is top notch and I appreciate being able to print on both sides of paper with the standard duplexer.

Love all the features, especially the added copy and scan - which are great Upgrades from my Epson 220 that I've used since it came on the market. I create DVD videos from digital images and also via VHS conversion. Printing labels is a snap. I highly recommend Epson Artison 730 to anyone wanting to print disks

Have been looking for a new printer that has the ability to print directly to DVD/CDs. This is an excellent printer for the job. Not to mention the 4x6 photos turn out amazing as well. Overall great printer and happy with my purchase.

I have used the Epson Artisan for a week now. It is an amazing printer. i love to take pictures. This printed does a beautiful job. Fast and colors that are sharp and bright. Does not seem to use a lot of ink. The copy feature is so nice, fast and sharp prints. Setup was easy and did not take a lot of time. The nice part was a quick setup sheet and best of all a printed manual was included, a thing you do not much of these days. Machine seem to be well built, easy to loda paper tray. I like that you can load plain paper and photo paper at the same time. So your ready to print any thing. It was a great price for the quality. You can not go wrong with this printer.

Great, but it has no scanner software for Mac

This is a nice printer; easy to setup on WiFi, good quality for photos and normal docs; lots of good functionality, including duplex printing. Sadly, there is no scanning software for the Mac. I'm a bit surprised because my Epson V600 scanner came with excellent software for the Mac. It won't work the the 730 though. Anyway, it would be 5 stars if it had Mac scanning software.
