worst printer ever

Quite possibly the worst printer I have ever used- and I own a paper printing business!
It cannot handle printing on a single sheet of standard weight cardstock without beeping at me a million times saying paper jam--the paper tray is the cheapest plastic ever.
The more frustrated I get with the so called 'paper jam' the more likely this flimsy little paper drawer is going to break
I would never recommend this printer to anyone if you value your sanity--purchase something different!

10th Month of Ownership

OK Great! I bought this printer because of all the great reviews....10 months in and problems begin. First the bleeding of ink till it's empty, then the new OEM replaced ones aren't printing. Now it won't recognize a particular cartridge. I've done my due diligence of websites and help videos. Good bye EPSON inkjet, hello competitor laser printer!!!!!

My scanner started giving me trouble so I decided to go with an all-in-one and picked the Epson Artisan 730. I've only had it a couple of days and so far I love it! It was easy to set up but I did not go wireless. The paper tray holds several sizes of paper so you're not loading paper all the time. I like that I can make copies and print photos without going through my PC. I can't believe how fast it makes BW copies. Color photos are beautiful and also print fast. Great quality color photos, I may never go to the store for prints again. I haven't tried everything it does yet but right now I will give it 5 stars. This is my 5th Epson printer in 14 years, two of the older ones are still in use.

This printer has everything I was looking for. Because I have an iMac and and iPad, I was looking for something Mac compatible, as well as, wireless. This has met those needs and has the additional treat of a way to print on CD/DVDs. It was easy to install and has been working great. Now, the DVDs I make each year for my grandchildren will at least look more professional! I highly recommend this printer! I can't comment yet on how this printer will hold up over time, but I can't see any reason I should not expect it to.

Man this Epson Artisan 730 All-in-One Printer is some awesome machine. I had it unboxed and set up and fully functional in 20 minutes. The printer menu instructions were clear and on point, The software set up flawlessly, The WiFi connection was a snap, The Epson Connect E-mail Print worked without any problems on the first try. I printed copies of 8.5 x 11 paper and a CD/DVD , both were good quality prints. I have yet to try printing to 4 x 6 photo paper. I am so impressed by the features of this machine. I love the inputs for different media formats - USB, SD card, xD card, and MS Pro Card. I use the wireless features, but there also is wired USB and Lan connectors. I don't have an iPhone but know the phone I have can work with WiFi devices. I certainly will look forward to years of use with this quality Epson Printer. Shipping was 8 days, not terribly bad. To all interested in this product this is an excellent buy. You'll be so happy you'll be dancing.

The printer works fine for plain paper, the scanner and copier are fine too. However, you cannot use anything other than plain paper for printer. I am completely frustrated with not being able to print shipping labels, greeting cards, or business cards. Even the photo paper won't feed properly. Sometimes I can get the thicker paper to feed, after about 2 or 3 dozen attempts. Stay away from it if you want to do anything but print on plain paper!

Works great until...

I have owned a number of Epson printers. Until I retired, I worked in an information technologies department and had ample opportunities to work with all types and makes of printers. Starting with the old dot matrix printers, I promoted Epson and one other make of printer for most desktop applications and have been very critical of some other manufacture's machines.
I believe that this is my 3rd Artisan 730. I have also owned a number of other Artisan 700 series printers. When they work, I don't think that there are any other printers available in that price range that perform as well. Great for personal black and white docs. Excellent color docs. Outstanding color photos. And the ability to print directly to CD and DVDs (the real reason that I started purchasing the 700's). Epson just blows the competition out of the water.
The downside is that, between my wife and I, we have accumulated a stack of them in our basement that no longer work. They all have been replaced for the same reason. Clogged nozzles. We use only genuine Epson ink and photo paper as well as high quality printer paper and CD's and DVD's. I learned a long time ago to stay away from bargain priced and after-market printing supplies. In the long run, they cause more trouble that they are worth.
Bottom line. When they work, they are the fantastic. Worth every penny. Unfortunately, between my wife and I, I've had to buy a new one every year or so. I keep buying them because, as I said, there's nothing available that produces such great results. I just wish that the nozzles and the ink delivery system was a little more reliable.

I bought this all in one printer because one of the features I like had the option to print onto a CD. It worked fine for a while but I have had nothing but problems with it for months. Won't scan, won't print, keeps telling me to buy ink when I know its full. I have had to uninstall & reinstall over 10 times to resolve this. I'm worn out trying and my scanning projects are piling up.
