Installed printer 3 days ago. Set up went smooth and fast. Have printed very little, but what I printed is great. Printed a few test photos and the quality on a gerneric paper is very good. Wireless feature eliminates another cable. Pleased with my new printer.

So far, so good!

When my Canon inkjet finally died, I spent several days researching a replacement. I finally settled on the Artisan 730...my first Epson printer.
Although I have only used the Artisan for about a week, I am happy with what I have seen so far. Setup was very easy. Total time from unpacking to printing was less than an hour. As a MAC user (iMAC, iPhone, iPAD), I was pleased to see that the Artisan is compatible with Airprint and, again, it was quick and easy to get all my mobile devices printing wirelessly. I also set up the Epson Connect feature, which allows me to print documents and photos to my printer through email when I am away from home. On the connectivity front, this inkjet printer is state-of-the-art.
I am also extremely pleased with the print quality and speed, both text and images. Photo reproduction is excellent...and fast. Colors are crisp and the photos are dry as soon as they come out of the printer. Duplex printing is another attractive feature and one that my last printer did not offer. I have not used the Artisan for any large print jobs as yet, so I cannot comment on how the printer performs under those conditions.
Ink costs are high, as they were for my previous color inkjet. I have purchased the high capacity cartridges, so I am anxious to see what the longevity of those will be.
The paper tray mechanism is a bit flimsy...something other reviewers had commented on. I can see that if someone were not careful, it could become a problem. It definitely will not tolerate rough treatment.
My only real concern at this point is that I will be upgrading to MAC Lion in a few months. I understand that I may have to perform a complete reinstallation of the printer software. Wish I could have waited to purchase the printer until AFTER I upgraded to Lion, but that was not possible.
All in all, this product seems to meet my need for a personal printer that can also handle my business printing.

Owned this printer since 11/15/11. Have not tried all the features yet. Wireless hookup to PC was quick. Took a little longer with my Mac running Lion. So far I have printed wireless from my iPhone.iPad and Mac. I' ve done photos from the iPhone and they look good. I use an App' called Epson iPrint on pad and phone which seems little faster than cloud. The color lcd screen on the printer is easy to see and read. Prints fast. Printing 4x6 pictures was just a matter of loading the paper and the printer did the rest. So far I'm quite satisfied.

After some initial set up trouble, my printer is humming now.
The color printer, with six color tabs, instead of the old two, produces crystal clear color with deep and true tones.
I would recommend this printer to any lap top user with any system.
You won't be disappointed.

Print from a PC, Mac, and an iPhone

The Epson 730 printer setup is easy to dicy to set up to two different computers and an iPhone. I have a PC running XP, the other a Mac Mini running iOS 10.7 Lion. I also have a WiFi router Linksys E1000.
I set up the PC first for WiFi and all went smoothly using the Epson supplied CD. Followed the onscreen wizard. Printed on first try
Then I set up the Mac. This is where things got dicy. Using the Epson CD first and following the wizard instruction didn't exactly match the Mac screen. After a couple of guessing and stumbling I cancelled the Epson Wizard and went to Epson's support online page and downloaded the drivers. I could then print wirelessly from either computer.
The scanning part is not easy using the Epson CD on the Mac either, in fact I could not get it to work. I again accessed the Epson site and found a Mac scanner driver down load. After the down load the scanner works perfectly. I'm not interested in scanning from my PC so I have not set it up as yet.
I found that this printer will print directly from an email. I registered on Epson's sight for an Epson printer email address and I now can email directly to the Epson printer from any computer and my iPhone4. Great for printing pictures from an iPhone to printer without using a computer.
I don't use Apple's AirPrint so I have no comment on that subject. Though Epson indicates it can do so.
Bottom line is I am completely satisfied with the results. I can now print to the Epson 730 from my PC, Mac, and print directly from my iPhone from anywhere.
Setup time for all of this ~ 2 hours.

Epson Artisan 730

It was easy to set up. It did not, however, do a print alignment automatically. I had to find the menu and do that myself. It prints beautifully. I love the ink and the possibilities of how much the printer can do and look forward to learning more. Great photos on glossy. I bought this one because I did not want a fax machine, therefore losing a document feeder which I now regret. It is great if you never have to change paper and do two sides. Pulling out the tray and changing paper and then pulling out the paper catch and then do it all over again. Too much wasted time. Over all a good printer.

Very easy to set up...instructions are very concise and easy to follow. Up and running in a short time. Works wonderfully well using Internet Explorer....however, I was unable to connect with Firefox using a wireless connection. This is NOT the printers' problem....Firefox is the issue. So far, this is a wonderful printer....very satisfied with it. Epson is the best!
