Have always had HP printers. Changed to a Kodak a year ago, but just got rid of that and ordered another HP. Only thing I don't like is the paper tray. You have to slide your paper holder, that catches the paper out of the printer, in everytime you want to put in a check or different paper. My older ones are not like that. Just slip the paper in.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love everything about my new HP 8600 Plus. So far it does everything I have asked it to do.
This printer is the first new I have purchased in six years. Oh what a difference. The only feature that I have not used is the fax capabilities, but will be doing so shortly. Copies are sharp, fast print speed, great for doing two-sided copying, easy to use scan feature. Could not be happier.

Exceeded expectations

I have a reputation for having "high expectations" and this printer EXCEEDED them. It arrived timely and undamaged. Set up was a breeze. Step by step instructions are included but you may find, as I did, that everything about this printer is so logical that you don't need them. Just assemble, plug in, load software, follow prompts and you are up and running. I waited to write this review until I had used it for a few weeks. I do a lot of printing for my 2 small businesses and this printer has had no problem keeping up. Print quality is great and the speed is excellent (my husband who works for a large corporation with access to high dollar printers even commented on how fast it it). The 2 sided printing feature has been wonderful, saving me both time & irritation (not re-loading paper by hand) and money (from saying "forget it" and just printing on one side). Scanning documents is easy and contains the ability to save in multiple formats at multiple resolutions. As you can tell, I love this printer and would highly recommend it!!

So far, so good

I chose this printer because it was highly reviewed. Unpacking and installation was straightforward until I got a 'leaky cartridge' error and could not proceed. There are only one set of installation cartridges which come with the printer. After cleaning and reinserting cartridges several times without success, I tried new cartridges. Beware, you MUST use the installation cartridges only or you get a new error message. I then searched online for how to resolve. I unplugged, turn off/on, etc. and the error message finally disappeared. All has been well since. I sure hope the cartridges (a very different style from my old HP printer) are robust. They are expensive. Nonetheless, I like the printer well enough that I have purchased another one, for our other residence.
