Was hoping for more amplification

There are dead spots in my house and I wanted to extend the signal. Running speedtest my modem is pumping 200 MPS. The extender does its job and the dead rooms have wifi - success. The speed however is in the 50MPS range. I was hoping for more but maybe that is not their function. Netgears support was exceptional.

Wifi extender

The netgear AC750 wifi extender is great i mainly use it for gaming although the connection is stable and very strong it is only for an hour and then it disconnected briefly (10s) which is significant in gaming. Outside gaming if i connect it to other devices the connect is smooth and no connection drops

Unit did not work

I set the unit up both ways suggested by the instructions after resetting. I requested phone help from Staples, Spectrum (my internet provider), and from Netgear. None could figure why it couldn’t connect to the internet, i.e. no help from anyone.
