This product should be worth its weight in gold! It can either function as a extender, or a direct plug in comparative to a Ethernet drop. It pairs with an app which is a charm to use, and a GUI that’s straightforward.

Does not want to connect to my WiFi

Netgear Extenders are great when you can get them to connect. Recently I have purchased at least three different Netgear Extenders, and they were all simple to hook up and use, but the EX6100v2 has been my biggest challenge yet. I downloaded the app and got everything almost connected but I keep hitting a roadblock. And I am not sure what it is because I have followed all the directions exactly! It is just frustrating. If it is my fault I will come back and add more stars to my review, as I am fond of Netgear products!!!!

Kept Me From Getting Fired!

I just moved and have been working online for a mortgage company. They have a VPN phone system that connects to their platform where customer calls get directed to the agents. As a results, having a strong WiFi is imperative. However, I moved to this month by month hotel stay and the WiFi provided by the hotel wasn’t cutting it, even though I hoped that it would be strong enough for me to be able to work effectively. Not only was it not strong enough, I was not able to work at all due to the VPN phone not recognizing there was WiFi! I quickly called my dad for some ideas of what to do because packing and moving back was not an option, and not working and risking getting fired from was also not an option. Being the genius that he is, he did a quick Google search and realized that there was such a thing as a WiFi extender. And since the VPN phone had an Ethernet cable that needed to be plugged into a modem of some sort, he reasoned that the NetGear might just do it by “tricking” the system into thinking it was directly connected to a modem. It worked! And has been extremely helpful. I did lose a day of work. However, I didn’t lose my job. Thanks NetGear for coming to the rescue.

Easy set up

Put it in a downstairs apartment that had spotty to nonexistent WiFi reception. This extender has definitely made a huge difference.

Product was not helpful. Set up was a pain. Ended up returning and just using my cellular hotspot. RIP.
