Hands down, the best pump EVER!!

I got this pump after using the Lansinoh double electric pump for about 6 months... during that time I had gone through 2 of those (I pumped everything for my little girl) I had no idea just how rough the Lansinoh was until I started using this pump... I realized that its not all about the strength of the suction when expressing milk, its about the motion and the comfort!! This pump saved me from having to stop breastfeeding because it was so gentle and comfortable, and although the strength of the suction produced was less than the Lansinoh, I was actually able to express more milk with each session using the Avent pump!! Also, the fact that I could control the speed of the suction (which I could do with the Lansinoh as well, only it wasn’t as “customized”) was amazing because I could change the settings instantly without having to reach for the console! ☺
I had also used the Medela pump that the hospital let me borrow for a month or so and the Avent was again, a much better option for me.
The only negative thing I have to say about this pump is that it only lasted me about 6 months... it still works but it overheats and I have to turn it off and back on several times during a session. I stopped pumping when my daughter was about 11 months old (I had enough breast milk saved up to last her until 14 months). Considering the fact that I was pumping between 24 and 36 hours a week and the fact that this pump outperformed 2 of the Lansinoh pumps I will still buy another one for this next baby! I love this Avent pump, its worth its weight in gold!! ☺

Painful and difficult to use

There are so many pieces to this pump. If one piece is not on all the way, the entire pump doesn't work. The "comfort shields" are painful. The plastic tugs at your areoles. When the comfort shield comes loose as it often does, usually in the middle of pumping, the pump will not work. There are several other small parts that come loose when pumping as well. You have to turn the pump off and check each component to try to find the problem. This pump is not comfortable or relaxing.
This pump is very convenient to carry and pump everywhere. Since I got it I haven't had any problems at all.
Pros: light weight, easy to carry

This product works well

I use my pump quite often. After getting used to using it I had no Problem getting milk. My only complaint is the diaphragm Would wear out and the pump handle would pop up decreasing the pumping ability. I would hold it down which helped. The pump is only slightly less strong than a hospital pump which I use at the hospital I work at 3 times a week. Considering the price difference between the two I would say this pump is a much better deal.

Best pump out there

I used this pump for over four years. I had four children in that span, including a set of twins in the middle. I exclusively breastfed all of my children for four months each and they continued to receive breast milk until 12 months. I work full time and pumped twice a day, Monday-Friday. This pump stood the test of time beautifully. I love the functionality of the pump. It can be used as a double electric, single electric, and manual pump just by changing a few parts. Customer service was awesome. I needed new tubing and it was overnighted to me. The pump is easy to pack for a trip and isn't very big, but the bag is big enough to pack all of your supplies in.
I love my Philips pump. I have found that for me it works better than a hospital grade pump, although all women are different. I like the size because it is easy to transport. It also has a carrying case that is semi-discreet. I do wish that it came with the option of a battery pack when an electrical outlet is not accessible. I have been using my pump for 4 months and have loved it and not had any problems.
Pros: small size
Cons: no battery pack

I have been using the Avent for about 6 years. It is by far better than the other pumps on the market and I have tried them all. Thr Avent is far more user friendly as well as ergonomic. The Avent has been able to extract more breast milk at a faster and more comfortable rate than any other of the major brands. The clran up is also more ideal with far less parts to clean! I would absolutely recommend this product to everyone!
Pros: easy to use easy to clean easy to set up, one handed operation, exellent fit

Very disapointed...

I have had this product for about 2 months and I have had nothing but disapointment. I love the bottles and so when it came time to purchase a pump, I natually went with what I knew. Wrong. I have no suction, the cleaning is such a pain with all the parts and the milk goes into the massage cushion no matter how far I lean forward.
I am very disapointed in this product and I will be not using it anymore or reccomending it to anyone.
