Functional product, too many pieces

It's not that this is a bad product, I just wish it was more like the Medela. Plug in the tubing, screw on the bottle and go. Needing to mess with the diaphragm, the rose petal flange piece and the little white vacuums is so much to worry about and clean and put together when you're trying to care for a brand new baby.
Pros: great customer service on product.
Cons: too many pieces

Hands Down, Best Pump on the Market!

My son is exclusively breastfed, even at 8 months old. I work full time, so pump 2-3 times daily at work. I returned to work when my son was 8 weeks old and started out with a First Years pump. Big mistake - that item is not meant for daily pumping, it hurt like crazy. Next I bought a Ameda pump. It was way better than the First Years pump, had variable control settings for suction and cycles, but the motor was gone within 3 months. I really liked the fact that the Ameda was a "closed" system, meaning milk can't back up into the tubing, but I didn't want to go with Ameda again considering the motor went on me. I found a great deal on the Avent dual electric pump and it has a closed system too so I went ahead and bought it. I will never use another pump other than the Avent! I have been using it for 3 months now and it is a dream! I only thought my other pump had "variable" settings - this pump is truly customize-able. I am able to get a faster cycling speed than I ever could out of the old Ameda, and I can speed up and slow down at will. This pump actually increased my milk supply!
Not very many people know or talk about this pump, but it is truly a player in the world of "big name" pumps. In my opinion, it is the best pump out there. I will never use another one, and I will recommend it to everyone I know!

It goes the distance, no questions asked and is gentle to tender tissue

I never intended to exclusively pump, but after 3 weeks of a sleeping baby at breast, I transitioned to exclusive pumping to save my sanity.
I hated, hated, hated the hospital pump. It felt like it was going to suck my nipples right off! I must be extremely sensitive, because I never got beyond the second level with the Medela hospital pump, and I used it for the full week that my baby was at the NICU.
I loved how gentle this pump was. I actually could extract more milk with this pump just because I could last longer. And there is a lot of garble out there about your supply deminishing if you only pump, but that is simply not the case. My baby was fed breast milk until a year of age when I transitioned him to toddler formula at my choice.
The pump is very quiet and has a very soothing swishlike hum that never woke the baby, even when he was right next to me. I could not use the comfort shells due to my larger bust, but I did find that you can insert larger cones into the Avent product and it seals tight with no leaks. The parts are easy to clean and durable. The valves lasted indefinitely for me and the diaphrams lasted about 45 days, pumping between 5-9 times a day.
I thought I would quit early if the pump died, but it never did. That sucker is still as strong as the day I bought it. The travel case is wonderful and the storage bags and icepacks keep the milk cold well over 4 hours. I would highly recommend this to any mother.

Not for women with large nipples - pump doesn't fit and is painful!
on November 4, 2013

I love everything about the pump except the fact that I can't find any replacement flanges to fit my breasts. My nipples are too large for the cushions and flanges that come with the pump. I've looked online and it doesn't seem like Avent offers replacement flanges for women with larger breasts/nipples. When I try to pump it is EXTREMELY painful! I'm sure this is a great pump for women with average size nipples. Unfortunately I wasted money and ended up in a lot of pain.

Best pump but a bit noisy

I love the pump it has great suction and it looks nice. I have had it for 9 months now and it is still working like new. My only complain is that the machine makes a lot of noise. I actually have to cover it with a pillow so I don't wake my husband or baby when they sleep. But other than that it is the best electrical pump i have seen for the price.
Pros: great suction
Cons: noisy

who thought of only using 1 breast pump if all women have 2 breasts?
Avent twin electric pump is by far the best purchase I’ve made for my baby. Very quiet, very gentle.
Pros: easy to use, gentle, quiet
Cons: hard to clean

Over all I like their pump however being a working mom it gets annoying packing it up and since it doesn't come with a back to keep everything together (and clean) I have to use a zip lock bag, i also wish it came with separate compartments and was able to keep milk cold while traveling.
Avent has amazing customer service! I lost (not sure what the correct name is) one of the white things that the milk drips into before it goes in the bottle. I called Avent and they sent me a package of them free of charge and air flighted it so it came with in 48 hours.

I have tried lots and lots of pumps, this one is the best!!

I have tried many types of pumps from competing vendors (Ameda, Medela, Simplesse, Limerick, Hygeia, etc... hospital grade and personal use pumps, manual and electric pumps...) and the Isis Duo IQ is, by far, my top pick.
My Isis lasted LOTS of use (power pumping at least 3 times a day for 18 months with 1st baby). I'm currently pumping for my 2nd child. Pump still works great, has not lost suction.
Other pumps do not compare to the comfort and smart design. Be warned though, this pump only comes in standard flange size. If your nipples are larger/smaller, you will need an insert - any brand insert will work.
I wish Phillips took pre-owned pumps back for proper disposal at the end of use - these pumps do not belong in the trash.
Pros: easy to use, easy to clean, easy to find replacement parts, very comfortable pumping, customizable settings (not pre-programmed), milk does not back into tubing, customer service is quick to respond when needed, bottles have wide-based nipples
Cons: flange size is for standard nipple, company does not dispose of used pumps
