Great Pump!!

I bought this pump because I had the manual pump already and loved it! The massage petals make this pump extremely comfortable and effective. I have a friend who has a different pump told me she can only pump one side at a time because she has to manually massage the breast she's pumping to get the most milk out of it...my AVENT does this for me!! I always feel empty afterwards and it's quick to set-up, take apart, clean and store!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very comfortable pump for mom with low milk supply

My son recently fell off his weight percentage and I needed to add supplemental feedings with a bottle. I felt discouraged after using the pump my insurance provided for me as I wasn't able to pump more than half an ounce from each side. Thankfully a friend recommended the Avent pump and I was able to pump much more milk with ease and comfort. I would highly recommend this to any new mother.

Very quiet. took time to put together before use. I was satisfied with the pump compared to the Medela brand I used while my son was in the NICU.
The price was right.

I love the memory setting. But equally love the fact that you can change the speed and power as you feel necessary. Only downfall if when the bottles or containers are hooked up they dont set up on their own, the weight of the hoses pull them down so you almost have to have 3 hands. But overall a great product, I use mine daily and couldnt survive without it!

Good at-home or at-work product

I have found the AVENT breastpumps to be very easy to use, convenient, and effective. Due to my financial situation, I opted to use the manual pump for the first 11.5 months of nursing/pumping. I went back to work after the minimal 6 weeks of leave and needed something lightweight and portable. In using the manual pump I learned how to express milk by using three quick successive (but light) pulls and then one long pull. I also use hand expression to remove more milk during my pumping sessions. After a few months I obtained a second manual pump and was able to effectively 'double pump' (pump both sides at the same time manually#. I didn't have my hands free, but it was much quicker. The manual pumps were slightly top heavy, especially with the 4-ounce bottles and flange covers on, but the handles balanced the weight and they could stand. It is not such a problem when the flange covers are placed on the bottom of the bottles, but this only works for the 4-ounce bottles.
After months of working, I eventually forgot my pumps at home. Since I live an hour away from my employment, I was not able to drive home to get it and so went to the nearest store. All they had of the AVENT brand was the twin electronic pump set #and only one left#. Needless to say I grabbed it up and went back to work. I very easily was able to set it up and use it right away. However, there were multiple differences that I had to get used to. The tops were much heavier-especially the bottle setup without the handle. The tubing kept getting in my way and causing me to knock the bottles over. This is just something that I had to get used to. With the manual pumps I could quickly put one pump down to focus on one side for hand expression. I cannot do this easily with the dual pumps as the tubing pulls on it, so I need to remove the tubing connection when I want to single pump and then add it back when I want to resume double pumping. Also, The automatic pumping only follows the last two compressions and so I cannot do the 3-1 combination that I learned and am used to. I continue to pump manually even though the purpose is for it to be automatic. This may be more of an issue for me than others though. I also need to continue to hold the bottles up so that they do not fall over, so I wouldn't call it 'hands-free', even if I were using the automatic feature. Again, the flange covers help with the smallest #4 ounce# bottles, but not the larger bottles #9 ounce have been my size of choice since my child was 4 months old#.
While it comes with a nice travel bag which is convenient for to- and from-work, you still need to make sure that you have an outlet to plug it in. So if you need to pump in an unsual place, such as your vehicle, it will not work. The manual pumps are much easier, and lighter, for a constant traveler. I have not tried the single-electronic pump but that appears to have batteries and could travel well without the need for an outlet #but I assume you would need batteries or a way to re-charge it when needed-not something you have to worry about with a manual pump#.
This product would be perfect if it also came with the manual pump diaphragms and handles so that you could change between electronic and manual pumping as needed. The travel bag could also be improved with inner pockets for organization and easier storing. The current size, design, and padding of the bag is nice.
Every piece of every AVENT pump is available for single purchase online. No matter which pump you purchase #manual, single, or dual#, I recommend also purchasing spare duckbill valves #comes in 6 ct# and silicone diaphragm #2 count-whichever style matches the pump#. All plastic wears in, and these will need to be replaced after extended use. I pump 5-7 times per day #starting at 6 weeks through 1 year# and I generally replace these pieces when I notice that the pull is not as strong. Generally I go through 6 valves before replacing the diaphragms as well. In one year I have gone through 12 valves and 4 diaphragms.
The pumps are very easy and quick to clean. I like being able to clean every centimeter of the product that touches the milk.
I have never had a problem with switching my baby back and forth from nursing to bottle feeding with the AVENT products and highly recommend them. Being able to pump, store, and feed breastmilk from the same container is a time-saver and the biggest reason I decided to try AVENT in the first place.
Pros: quiet, easy to use, simple/convenient milk storage system, easy to clean/sterilize, able to reorder every piece if needed
Cons: top heavy, requires an outlet

I have large breasts and most pumps were uncomfortable and painful to use. I found this pump to be amazing in use and comfortable. I loved being able to adjust the pumping speed and style to match the way that my baby nurses! Overall wonderful and highly recommended!!!

After purchasing other pumps that I was unhappy with, I decided to rent a breast pump from a hospital. Although it worked great, it was pricey, so I started researching pumps again. I decided on this pump because of the great reviews and also because of the price. I got it 2 days later and hurried home, so excited to try it! However, when I first tried the pump, I found I couldn't control the level of suction. It hurt sooo bad!! I read the manual several times, and couldn't get it to work properly. No matter how gently the trigger was pressed, the suction was 100% strength. When I pump, I always need to start off easy, then gradually increase the suction. I was under the impression that this pump would allow me to do that. I called the customer service number. The lady I spoke with was very nice. She actually plugged in the same kind of pump, and walked me thru, step by step, how to control the suction. When it still didn't work, she apologized profusely, said i must have gotten a defective pump, and overnighted me a brand new one! I got it the next day, tried it, and it worked perfectly! I am so impressed by the awesome customer service! And the pump? It's the best I've ever used...including the rented hospital pump! I will recommend this pump to everyone! The only reason I only gave the design 4 stars is because I always seem to spill a little milk when I'm done. There is always a little bit that doesn't get down into the bottle. Other than that, it's perfect!!
