Good but had its problems

We have had to use tape on both units to keep them closed because they would pop open. Then we would have to pull over and close in order to keep watching .

After ONE road trip DVD pops open

I am very disappointed in this product. After waiting 6 months to install this in my car (my daughter got it for Xmas, but I wanted to save it for long road trips), it stopped working after our first trip. DVD player always pops open, so it stops working. I used tape for awhile, but this solution didn't last. Poor product.

Bad disc errors with little use

I bought this for our kids and have used them a few times on long trips, etc. No bumps, no abuse. They started freezing the discs and now BOTH say "bad disc" no matter how new the discs are. A failure.
Cons: failed within 1-2 years
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

OK~not so sure

I have just received this product as a replacement for a similar/exact model that had a power shortage in the car causing a burn on the person pulling the plug. I highly recommend BEST BUY'S protection plan as they replaced it with a new unit with no problems. We only had the other unit for about 8 months. This is the 3rd DVD player we have had because of similar difficulties with shorts and malfunctions, hence the reason that I suggest purchasing the extended warranty that companies offer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

STOPED WORKING

I USED THIS PRODUCT 2 TIMES DURING A 1 YEAR PERIOD, ON THE THIRD TIME MY PRODUCT STOPPED WORKING, NOW I AM GOING TO CONTACT PHILLIPS TO SEE WHAT CAN THEY DO TO HELP ME!!!
Cons: turns off very easily while driving

I purchased this product 2 months ago. Installed great. It quit working last week. The door shifts on every bump causing the player to turn off and back on again. This is the second Phillips dvd product that I have purchased. The other product lasted 3 months. Never again will I purchase a Phillips product.

Unreliable!

I bought 2 set for our 2 cars a little over 12 months ago. Last weeks one DVD player from one set reads 'No Disc' no matter what disc I put in. Tried cleaning it with DVD player cleaner, still didn't work. This past weekend the picture on the DVD player in the other car started becoming blurry and tonight got the 'Blue Screen' of death like the other one that read 'No Disc'. I don't feel it's coincidence that 2 DVD's in separate cars stop working within 3 weeks of each other. BEWARE! Poor Quality. Now, I have 2 broken DVD players.

Quits working

I love this when I first got it. But about 6 months after I got it one of the players would read "Bad Disc" whenever I would try to play a DVD or it would just sit on "Loading" and never play. We just used the other player to play the movies instead. It was an inconvenience but not that big of a deal until today the OTHER dvd player also has quit. Will not read discs, if they do decide to read them they will get stuck on discs menu and wont play after I select play on the screen. I loved these, thought they were amazing. But now they were just a big waste of money. And of course, the one year warranty was up in May of this year so there's nothing to do about it.
Pros: big screens, able to play different movies
Cons: they break, waste of money
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
