Issues with inherited dishwasher

My wife and I inherited this dishwasher when we purchased our home last year. We were happy to have a dishwasher but have had issues the last few months. Intermittently the control indicators are lit as usual but do not respond. We are unable to change the settings or even start the cycle. I'm still trying to determine the cause, if anyone has had a similar issue please comment on my review...if that's even possible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
