Would not recommend

I would not buy this again, the model does not come with enough door bins and to purchase additional bins, it is $125/bin when you include the frame and bin. The drawers do not open enough to put a head of lettuce in and the shelves that come with it are not sufficient to put stuff on the shelves with out stacking (you can not add shelves due to the way it is made). We are very unhappy with this purchase and when we have guests they have comment on how bad this refrigerator is. The ice make does not make enough ice to support 2 people in the house in the summer.

I like the fact that I can get cold water and ice from the door. I don't like the on-off switch for the ice maker, however. You have to remove the entire ice box in order to turn the switch on or off. Also, when getting ice out of the door, it tends to go all over the floor. I also like the different compartments in the refrigerator.
Pros: easy to use, Drawers slide easily
Cons: crushed ice goes on the floor

Roomy but disappointing

We bought this one month ago and love the size but are disappointed with the water/ ice dispenser. The water is dispensed at room tempature. Do not expect chilled water! Also, our kitchen set up has the fridge right next to a wall oven. When we cook with the oven, the ice in the ice maker melts and causes water to flow out of the ice maker and makes such a mess all over. We think this is a flaw in the design. If they can fix that and chill the water it would be a great product. We are hoping to return this product and replace with another model.

Not a good product

I was very happy with the previous model and decided to upgrade to the latest. That was a mistake!
1. Water dispenser does not deliver cold water 2. I align the doors, and after a few days they get mis-aligned again 3. Ice maker pushed Ice into to the inside of the fridge and pushed the ice-make component out of place! 4. Drawer broke with normal usage, no abnormal physical force was applies.

Showstopper: warm water, feeble drawers

I picked this fridge for looks and being counter depth. The Kitchenaid product line as a whole did not match up with the competition on looks with the Samsungs an alike - LED lighting is a must these days, just as dual eval even on the midrange. So it left me with only this particular model and nothing else to choose, as my wife wanted Kitchenaid, I wanted counter depth and modern lighting and dual evaporator. Since then I hear "I hate this fridge" from my better half as the bottom drawer is not sliding freely for no apparent reason. The first 6 oz of the water comes out room temperature, I need to walk back to the sink to dump it and fill again, reminding me how great mistake I made when I purchased this fridge and now I'm stuck with it for the next 10 years.
Cons: water dispenser starts warm, weak and cheap plastics

we had an old single door top freezer so compared to that I am very happy with this. there are a few reviews mentioning problems that I agree. 1) ice maker can be a little messy when dispenses ice 2) the water on door initially comes out just cool, not cold - which we prefer but could be a problem for others 2) not enough door storage shelves so we are forced to store bottles of dressings, sauces etc, on the already limited shelves 3) the interior drawers do not pull out all the way. your forced to squeeze stuff in it's a little tight. the pros: I can see what we have in there and keep it clean. yay!

love the filtration systems, clean lines, dimensions (reduced depth, more height--I have more room in my kitchen plus fridge looks "designer" --only drawback--one small produce drawer--wish there were two. Love the see-door bins--looks classy and makes it easy to spot items.
Pros: no cheap looking ventilation grill at bottom, Design
Cons: needs roomier produce bin

Freezer Woes

I love the look, size and layout of this unit, however, I am now on my second unit and it, too, is broken. The first unit had to be replaced entirely because neither the refrigerator nor freezer would cool and there appeared to be electrical problems. I have had the replacement refrigerator about a month and now the freezer's compressor is broken. I came home to find water all over my brand new kitchen and all the groceries in the freezer were ruined. I had to wait a week for an authorized repair person to look at the unit and they advised that the freezer's compressor must be replaced (will take another week or more to get replacement). The compressor on the refrigerator side is still cooling, but I am concerned that it, too, may fail.
I thought the first broken unit was just bad luck, but the fact that the replacement unit failed in under a month makes it seem more like an inherent flaw.
